Oslo is an amazing place that will provide many attractions and entertainment for all travelers. We will see the extraordinary face of the Norwegian capital in the bustling port, in the city center, where residents often have picnics, or in the surrounding mountains and forests, where we can feel extremely fresh, crisp air. We will also find places with original architecture and history here, and we will be surprised by the length of the day in the summer. Oslo is the perfect combination of urban cultural life with the benefits of a large city with peace and quiet in the nearby provinces.

One of the most famous buildings in Oslo is the Opera House. This building is extremely attractive to all lovers of the original look. Its sloping roof is a great vantage point over the central part of Oslo and the modern Barcode office complex. Numerous performances inside, which hide interesting solutions, are worth recommending. An interesting viewpoint over most of the city is the Ekeberg hill with the nearby Ekebergparken Sculpture Park with interactive elements.

People who like history will surely be interested in the numerous museums located in the city of Oslo. The Gustav Vigeland Museum is an amazing place with the works of Vigeland. In turn, the Fram Polar Expedition Museum is dedicated to "the strongest ship in the world - Fram". It is also worth visiting the Viking Ship Museum, where boats with interesting equipment have been perfectly preserved. On the other hand, one of the most interesting open-air museums is the Norwegian Folk Museum, where we can find original rural and urban buildings. The old railway station is definitely one of a kind and worth visiting. Today there are no trains here, but we can eat tasty in the restaurants that have been created.

A trendy meeting place, full of cafes, restaurants, unique shops and galleries is the artistic Grünerløkka, where we can find charming tenement houses and buildings covered with fanciful graffiti. During the weekend, we can visit the extremely artistic Bla Marked, where we can find original souvenirs from local artists. The trendy and modern Aker Brygge district has many places to go for walks, shopping or relaxing by the waters of the Oslofjord. Going from Karl Johans gate towards Aker Brygge, we will pass the Town Hall. From the outside, the building does not impress with its architecture, although lovers of modernism and functionalism will probably appreciate it. The interior, however, will surprise us with beautifully painted, monumental rooms and a view of the port. In the vicinity of Aker Brygge, we find the Akerhus fortress on the hill, i.e. a medieval castle complex that once defended the city against enemy invasion. This complex is one of Norway's oldest and most beautiful cultural heritage sites. Also worth visiting is Drobak, a small town with a market square, where a flea market or a festival often takes place.

The Holmekollen ski jump will be an interesting place for fans of skiing and not only. Here, everyone can play the role of a real jumper thanks to the flight simulator here. From the tower of the Holmekollen ski jump you can enjoy a spectacular view of Oslo and the Oslofjord. Inside the ski jump, there is a possibility to visit the Ski Museum (Skimuseet), where we will learn everything about skiing as well as about the polar expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen. Kollensvevet may be an attraction for people who like challenges, where it is possible to slide down from the top of the tower.

One of the most visited places in Oslo, with a bustling city life, is Vigelandajak Park. As one of the largest parks in the world, it houses nearly 200 sculptures created by the Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland. It is a meeting place for locals looking for peace and quiet.

For people looking for peace, tranquility and contact with nature, the route along the Akerselva River with 20 waterfalls and 26 bridges and numerous monuments related to the industrial history of Oslo will be interesting. Another place worth mentioning is Nodmarka, a forest north of Oslo, where you can find numerous hiking and skiing trails. People who like more climbing than hiking can go to the largest park in Scandinavia, Oslo Summer Park, and for skiing fans by the lake Tryvannsvannet operates the Oslo Winter Park ski resort. Trips to the islets near the city center can also be very interesting. The largest island and, according to many, the most interesting and beautiful is Hovedoya. Another interesting island is Malmøya, which can be reached directly from the station in 10-15 minutes

Oslo is an extremely interesting city. Picturesque landscapes and the city center, vibrant with life and artistic elements in the form of paintings, sculptures or other structures in the city space, encourage you to visit it.
