Polish vineyards - camping in unusual natural circumstances

Although it is hard to believe, the wine tradition in Poland is over 1000 years old. Grapevines were grown, among others, on the slopes of Wawel Hill, in the Benedictine Tyniec or the area of Zielona Góra. Until the 14th century, the development of winemaking was dynamic, but then it slowed down sharply, and finally, in the post-war period, it slowed down completely. Over the last 20 years, however, a group of enthusiasts has taken up the challenge of recreating wine production in Poland. By experimenting with different types of seedlings, they began to create more and more extensive crops. The effects are visible - today we have over half a thousand vineyards in Poland! They are scattered across various provinces, but most of them are located in Lower Silesia, Małopolska, Podkarpacie and Świętokrzyskie.

Visiting the vineyards with an overnight stay can therefore be a great idea for a round trip around Poland. There are agritourism farms and guesthouses in some of them, and many also offer space for a motorhome or caravan. Enotourism allows you to discover Poland anew and from a completely unknown side.

Vineyards with an overnight stay in Europe

Tourists following the route of local winemaking can wander to various corners of Europe. The most obvious destinations are Hungary, Italy and France, but extensive vine plantations are also found in countries such as Czech Republic, Slovenia and Croatia. Enotourism is developing dynamically there - the vineyards offer not only accommodation or camping places, but also various attractions: wine SPA, wine therapy, participation in the grape harvest or sommelier workshops.
