Erwin Hymer Group canceled participation in all European trade fairs by the end of 2020.
Erwin Hamer Group and all its brands such as Bürstner, Carado, Crosscamp, Dethleffs, Eriba, Etrusco, Hymer, Niesmann + Bischoff, Laika, LMC and Sunlight have canceled their participation in all European events scheduled for 2020.
The group's authorities felt that, taking into account the large number of visitors to the events, such as the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, and the measures that would have to be taken due to the risk of infection, it makes no sense to participate in the fair this year.
Too much risk
Martin Brandt, CEO of Erwin Hymer Group (EHG), stated that the health of customers, employees and business partners is a top priority. The situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic requires special requirements for maintaining physical distance and increased hygiene, which can be very difficult at events such as fairs. Measures that should be taken, although necessary, destroy the carefree atmosphere of the event, necessary for the mutual interaction of exhibitors and visitors, and this group considers this a basic condition for a successful fair. For this reason, EHG will not participate in the fairs planned until the end of 2020, including the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, which will take place in early September.
For information to dealers
Martin Brandt ensured that thanks to the cooperation with over 1,200 trading partners in Germany and throughout Europe, the EHG brands have an efficient and professional network of dealers and services. As a result, both customers and interested parties can obtain product information, help and advice directly from their local EHG distributors. In addition, all tips and information about the offer can be obtained safely over the Internet, without the need for personal contact.
Caravanning is the safest way to travel
The chairman of the EHG emphasized that the current cancellation of participation in the fair is solely due to the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to ensure the safety of both employees and customers. At the same time, Martin Brandt pointed out that when it is safe to travel, caravanning means flexible and safe holidays in Germany and in all regions of Europe. RV travelers are less constrained by the current situation due to the self-sufficiency of the vehicles. Keeping a safe distance from other people is not a problem in a motorhome. That is why many caravanning fans will probably be able to enjoy their holidays later this year - even with travel restrictions - he emphasized.
Martin Brandt is optimistic about the caravanning (and fair) season in 2021. In his opinion, the current crisis will further strengthen the tendency to this type of travel. - Despite the cancellation of participation in this year's events, we look forward to presenting our new products and innovations at the fair next year - assured the president of EHG.
