Lake Garda is most often associated with holidays in July and August. However, for many people, spring, June, or early autumn can be a much more pleasant time to travel to northern Italy. Temperatures are more conducive to sightseeing, the promenades are quieter, and relaxation can be more easily combined with excursions in the surrounding area. A good place for such a stay is Piani di Clodia, a five-star holiday park located directly on Lake Garda, near Lazise.

If you're looking for a family campsite on the Adriatic but prefer a more resort-style experience, Sant'Angelo Village is definitely worth considering. This 5-star campsite is located on the Cavallino-Treporti peninsula, between the Adriatic Sea and the Venetian Lagoon. Spread over approximately 20 hectares, it offers pitches, cottages, and apartments, a large pool complex, a private sandy beach, restaurants, shops, sports facilities, and plenty of activities designed for children.

An Italy vacation doesn't have to mean just the Adriatic coast, Lake Garda, or the popular resorts of Tuscany. If you're looking for a more peaceful destination, surrounded by greenery and offering a chance to combine relaxation with sightseeing, Umbria is worth considering. Lake Trasimeno lies at the heart of this region, and Camping Village Cerquestra nestles on its hilly shores. This campsite is completely different from the large seaside resorts. Instead of a huge water park and hundreds of cottages, we have terraced grounds nestled among oaks, pine trees, and ancient olive trees, panoramic lake views, and an atmosphere conducive to a more peaceful vacation. At the same time, you don't have to sacrifice a swimming pool, restaurant, entertainment, or comfortable accommodations.

Lake Garda has long been one of the most popular holiday destinations in northern Italy. It's no wonder – in one region, you can combine waterside relaxation, cycling, trekking, water sports, and sightseeing in Italian towns. A major advantage of this part of the country, however, is that when planning your vacation, it's worth considering more than just the shores of Lake Garda.

Is it possible to spend two weeks at one campsite and do something different every day? Union Lido Mare in Cavallino-Treporti is one of those places where the answer is a resounding yes. This isn't a typical campsite consisting of pitches, rows of mobile homes, a pool, and a restaurant. It's more like a small holiday village where you can stay, go to the beach, enjoy water parks, play sports, visit restaurants, shop, enjoy the wellness area, and in the evening, catch a show or other entertainment.

Lake Garda is synonymous with large holiday resorts, extensive water parks, and campsites, which attract thousands of tourists during the season. However, not everyone is looking for this type of vacation. If you value peace, direct contact with the lake, and an intimate atmosphere, Camping Bergamini in Peschiera del Garda is an interesting alternative. This small, family-run campsite, located directly on the water, has been run by the Beltrami-Gregori family since 1954.

Northern Italy is primarily associated with Lake Garda, but if you're looking for a destination a little less obvious, it's worth looking west. Lago Maggiore lies on the border between Italy's Piedmont-Lombardy region and Switzerland, and is one of the largest lakes in the country. Surrounding it are small towns, mountains, gardens, palaces, islands, and, above all, excellent conditions for a waterside vacation.

If you're dreaming of a Lake Garda vacation that combines relaxation, beautiful views, Italian flair, and the opportunity to explore northern Italy, Camping Piani di Clodia in Lazise is definitely worth considering. It's one of the best-located campsites on Lake Garda, offering direct access to the lake and a convenient base for exploring the Veneto region.

If Italian holidays primarily evoke images of Garda, Tuscany, or the Adriatic coast, Liguria is also worth considering. This narrow strip of Italy's northwest coast connects the Ligurian Sea with green hills and mountains, and its small seaside towns have a completely different atmosphere than the large holiday resorts. It is here, in Pietra Ligure on the Riviera delle Palme, that Camping dei Fiori is located.

Sandy beaches, warm seas, plenty of attractions for children, and campsites that often resemble holiday resorts more than traditional campsites. The northern Adriatic coast has been one of the most popular family vacation destinations in Italy for years.
