Go skiing? Only in the Alps!

A winter ski trip is often associated with recreation in Austria, Slovakia or Switzerland. Meanwhile, France also has a lot to offer in the field of ski resorts. In this country, there are over 400 well-organized resorts for winter sports enthusiasts, located both in the Alps and the Pyrenees, the Vosges Mountains, the Central Massif and the Jura. The season in the French Alps lasts from December to April, but the greatest number of tourists can be expected in February and March.

If choosing a place for an adventurous skiing holiday remains a problem, we recommend Les Deux Alpes. This place is located high in the northern French Alps, has an extensive infrastructure in terms of lifts, well-adapted routes, but also gastronomy and dance venues. Les 2 Alpes offers slopes for all levels of skiers, and access to all of them is really easy. Les Deux Alpes is located relatively close to the famous Grenoble, called the capital of the Alps, so apart from going crazy on the slopes or in clubs, you can also visit one of the iconic places for lovers of history (and even prehistory;)).

A resort full of possibilities

Les 2 Alpes is a resort very famous and appreciated by skiers and snowboarders all over the world. The name of the center comes from the fact that it is located in two mountain pastures connected with each other by a modern network of lifts. The varied routes cover as much as 220 km, and you can test your driving skills in the snow park with a wide offer, divided into sections for advanced skaters and beginners. Around Les 2 Alpes you can enjoy a panoramic view of mountains over 3,000 meters high, and the resort itself is situated on the border of the southern and northern Alps. Such a picturesque location, and at the same time excellent conditions, make the resort attract numerous lovers of skiing almost from the very beginning (in the 1940s). Of course, today the infrastructure and all the lifts are modern, but it is worth mentioning that, unlike most French resorts, this place has a fairly rich tradition.

More fun in the Alps?

For lovers of extreme experiences, the station has something special up its sleeve - the possibility of riding the Mont de Lans glacier route (actually one of the eight routes available there, served by a total of 12 small T-bar and chairlifts). The snow park, on the other hand, is located at an altitude unprecedented in other places, at 3200 meters above sea level, and offers numerous attractions as well as excellent dining facilities. It is worth noting that Les 2 Alpes is also a perfect place for lovers of cross-country skiing - here, however, you should be especially careful (especially around the glacier). If, on the other hand, we are temporarily bored with madness on the slope, you can always spend time actively in one of the sports centers, where a solid, exhausting training can be completed with relaxation in the swimming pool, sauna or jacuzzi. In the event of possible injuries, the services of physiotherapists and masseurs are available. Summing up, it can be said that the center is prepared to meet the expectations of all types of guests. We welcome both loners facing their own limitations, couples wishing to have a nice (but also entertaining) time, as well as families with children eager to rest. Les 2 Alpes is a place for everyone.

Languedoc flowing with wine
Although beautiful and full of magic, Languedoc is not as popular as its sister Provence. This one is associated with lavender fields, blue shutters and landscapes that delighted painters - not only impressionists. Languedoc, on the other hand, remains somewhat in the shadow, although it has a lot to offer. Together with Roussillon, which until recently was a separate province, it forms a vast region encompassing the Pyrenees on the Spanish border and the Rhône estuary in the east. Languedoc-Roussillon is an area extremely diverse geographically and culturally. You can clearly see the Catalan heritage there, starting from painting the houses in vivid colors, through the cuisine (including tapas and bull steaks), and ending with traditions associated more with Spain than France - bullfights. The history of the region is also colorful, although often its main color was blood red. In Prouille , approximately 78 km from Toulouse, the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) was born, from which many inquisitors came. In the region we will find numerous ruins of castles nestled in steep rocks, silent evidence of his cruel activities. The scene of particularly grim events was Béziers , the town where the Cathar massacre took place. Fortunately, it also has a brighter side - Pierre-Paul Riquet, the creator of the Canal du Midi, a water route from the north to the south of France, to the Mediterranean Sea, was born there. What other cities are worth visiting during your holiday in Languedoc-Roussillon ? Certainly the above-mentioned Toulouse with its beautiful Capitol and a number of monuments that cannot be visited in one day, Carcasonne with the largest medieval urban complex in Europe, and Albi, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Narbonne, Nîmes and Montpellier are also worth mentioning.
