If we want to be sure that our navigation will certainly work well in a motorhome, we have two solutions to choose from. The first, more popular, is the choice of navigation designed with trucks in mind. The second variant is still not very popular navigation for vans. Some of the two types of these devices have special functions that are specific to RVs. We will look at two such devices.

Zenec ZE-NC3711D

The vast majority of motorhomes are currently built on the basis of Fiat Ducato. It is not surprising then that the device dedicated to motorhomes was prepared precisely in order to replace the factory multimedia devices installed in Ducato.

Zenec ZE-NC3711D costs around 1,100 euros in Germany and fits into the factory audio equipment bay. Thanks to this, the assembly is very simple. Importantly, the installation of this equipment allows you to continue to use the steering wheel-mounted audio controls. This navigation fits Fiat Ducato produced from 2006 till present.

What will be most interesting for motorhome users is the system created by the Hungarian company iGo with caravanning enthusiasts in mind. To take full advantage of its advantages, you need to enter all the important data about the car into the computer, such as weight, height, width and, in the case of traveling with a trailer, also its length.

This navigation has maps of 43 European countries enriched with over 21 thousand. caravan related POIs. Thanks to this, finding, for example, a suitable campsite will not be a problem.

This model has a 6.5-inch touch screen with a DVD / MP3 player. The device also has a USB socket, an SD card reader and a speakerphone. Optionally, you can also have a DVB-T TV tuner and a DAB + digital radio receiver

Becker Transit 50

The Becker Transit 50 model, which costs about PLN 1,300, will be much cheaper. This device was created with motorhomes and trucks in mind. Transit 50 is a traditional navigation with a 5-inch screen that does not require replacing audio equipment.

Becker has extensive functions that make it easier to navigate routes selected according to the size of a specific vehicle. When calculating the route, the device takes into account the dimensions, weight, presence of a trailer, but also, for example, the maximum speed of the vehicle. The features of roads are also taken into account, e.g. heights of bridges and tunnels as well as traffic restrictions or warning signs.

Unsuitable parts of the route are automatically deleted. When calculating a motorhome route, entry bans and truck restrictions are not taken into account.

Additionally, the Transit 50 has a "learning navigation" feature. When calculating the route, the device not only takes into account historical traffic data, but also new data gathered during the trip, learning the best routes (also taking into account the days of the week and hours).

An interesting fact may be the Polish-language version of the Becker OneShot function, which allows you to select the destination address by voice.

Sun and rain protection at the campsite
The weather, especially on summer holidays, can be capricious. Although it is impossible to predict it, we can be properly prepared for it. Whether it is sun or rain - it is worth considering the equipment of the motorhome that will allow us to enjoy the holiday regardless of the weather conditions. What accessories are worth investing in? Especially awnings, side walls and roller blinds for motorhomes will protect us from the scorching sun and persistent rainfall. Although awnings are optional accessories for a motorhome, investing in buying them before the summer season can save us a lot of nerves during our dream trip. Each of us has experienced at least once the discomfort associated with the heat pouring down from the sky and the hours of rain, which effectively discourage leaving the motorhome. Fortunately - the solutions available in the stores with camping accessories are a real godsend during bad weather. There are two types of awnings to choose from by the owners of motorhomes - wall and roof awnings, which, as the name suggests, are mounted on the side of the vehicle or on the roof, always in places reinforced at the factory by the vehicle manufacturer. When the weather conditions are unfavorable, a well-taut material is ejected quietly and gently from a special cassette, which is an effective barrier against sun rays or raindrops. In the offer of leading manufacturers such as Dometic, Fiamma or Thule, we can find both manually operated awnings and those equipped with an electric system. When buying, it is worth paying attention to models equipped with a special rain drainage pipe.
