Semi-integrated or integrated? RAPIDO has the solution

RAPIDO is a very interesting French brand that produces various campers: vans, semi-integrated and full integrateds. It carefully combines high quality, various floor arrangements and prices at an acceptable level. Let's take a look at two models that belong to different 'families' of motorhomes, but have a lot in common.

Short and family

RAPIDO 656F is a semi-integrated car, less than 7 meters long (6.79 m) and less than 3 meters high (2.90 m). So you can certainly use the term "compact" for it. At the same time, it offers 4 places to travel and 2 (as standard) or 4 (with an optional fold-down bed) for sleeping.

The motorhome is based on a new generation Fiat Ducato. There is a 2.3 engine with 140 hp under the hood. DMC is of course 3500 kilograms, but it is possible to increase it up to 5.5 tons. The weight of the car in running order is 2,885 kilograms. The most reasonable and acceptable result.

The layout of the 656F is primarily a spacious face-to-face lounge. It has several advantages. The entire crew will sit around the fold-out table and eat a meal. The space in the corridor in front of the work corner is much larger than in "standard" layouts. Two adults will easily pass each other there. The worktop itself in the kitchen is larger, which affects the comfort of prepared meals.

Above the living room, we can order an additional, electrically lowered double bed. At the rear, a gigantic bedroom with a king-size bed is designed, but slightly shifted to the left. In this way, on the right, it was possible to "squeeze" the combined bathroom and shower cubicle. The washbasin with the mirror are located outside the cabin, in the same space as the large bed. A convenient, interesting solution.

The Truma COMBI version 4 gas system is responsible for heating. Optionally, we can also order underfloor heating when connected to an external 230V power source. 656F is a year-round motorhome. A heated and insulated gray water tank is a standard feature of the RHD Pack. It also includes, among others grill with oven or 3-burner gas cooker.

What is worth mentioning? Richly equipped. Lots of 230, 12V and USB connectors. Household battery with a capacity of 100 Ah. Prepared installation for mounting the TV. A spacious refrigerator that allows you to take supplies for a few days for the entire crew. And design. It's RAPIDO after all, so we can expect the best materials and great color combinations. There are two furniture fronts to choose from: Castello and Elegance. The latter is slightly darker and can contrast strongly with the light upholstery. There are as many as 7 of the latter.

856F - a real integra

RAPIDO 856 F is a fully integrated car, which also does not exceed the limit of 7 meters in length (679 cm). Why is it so important? We will feel it, among others during ferry crossings, during which we will pay less for the transport of motorhomes below 7 meters.

Integra offers a full 4 places to ride and sleep. The bedroom in the back is designed in the same way as in the model described above. We find the differences at the front. Here, "as standard" there is an additional bed lowered above the cab, in which two adults can sleep comfortably. We still have a large face-to-face lounge, a spacious corridor and easy access to the fridge and kitchenette.

A word about options. The "Select" package includes a rear view camera, a multimedia center with a 6.2-inch screen, an airbag for the passenger, cruise control, safety systems supporting the driver, window blinds and the "DuoControl" system that allows you to connect two gas cylinders at the same time.

The Rapido brand dealer in Poland is mCamp from Dzierżoniów.
