For a long time, like many of our fans, we have been following the travel achievements of the "Bus through the world" team. Their YouTube channel already has over 136,000 subscribers, and the reports and materials are of the highest quality. 10 years of travel translates, of course, into a considerable baggage of experience, including hardware. It is with even greater interest that we look "from the kitchen" to their vehicle and this material is to be dedicated to it.

Exotic travel friend

Karol and Ola have experience with several recreational vehicles, and their first vehicle was the VW T3, which they covered a total of over half a million kilometers, visiting 50 countries at the same time. As the car became more and more emergency, it eventually fell into a state of rest. The search for a worthy successor focused on the vehicle, the advantages and possibilities of which the couple got to know during their travels, among others, in Georgia. We are talking about the quite exotic in our country model Mitsubishi Space Gear Delica 4x4 (also known as L400). The vehicle is mechanically very similar to the Pajero and shares many components with it. This particular model was made in Japan and has become a very popular dumper in the Asian and Australian / Oceania markets - yes that's right, the handlebars are on the right ;-).

Cheap, but with an idea

Since traveling is supposed to be cheap, our heroes pay close attention to every expense and avoid extravagance and luxury. The basis for their vehicle was a 25-year-old vehicle, which was immediately subjected to numerous mechanical modifications - snorkel, specialized trunk, suspension and, of course, the bodywork - but nothing is left to chance here, and the solutions used prove the experience and skills of the team. While the superstructure and equipment elements in the previous vehicles were their own, here it was decided to entrust the construction of the construction to a specialized company - a pull-out kitchen block at the back with lots of drawers and accessories is a perfectly planned module (literally ... to the last hook), hiding the gas stove, dishes, clean and dirty water tanks (50 l each), as well as a shower. Above the module there is a full-size, double bed, in the base of which there are also large-capacity storage compartments for things and provisions.

The layout of the seats is very interesting - the front passenger seat has been equipped with a turntable, and the rear seats are a real masterpiece at the factory - they are rotated, folded and adjusted in every plane, which allows for endless possibilities in terms of use and arrangement of the rear of the vehicle. There is even a place to work here - a computer desktop and a comfortable armchair also provide such opportunities. Of course, you will also find an inverter and a pure water heating system while driving. A simple Planar system with a temperature controller operating on the on-off principle is responsible for internal parking heating in winter conditions. According to users' reports, it can handle such a small cubature very well, and the mechanical ventilation function provided by the device also turns out to be useful. Even a trip and stay in cold Siberia turns out to be possible without changing the configuration of the car. The car's roof is equipped with sunroofs that allow you to observe the stars at night and provide additional lighting for the vehicle during the day, which gives an amazing spatial experience. It is worth mentioning about adjustable solar panels and a custom trunk, where every detail is thought out - from fixing the hammock to lighting - everything is in its place.

The further the better

As mentioned above, unfortunately Delica is not a car known or liked among mechanics. Fortunately, only in our latitudes. In Asia and Australia, there is no problem with vehicle servicing and parts access. In many countries with left-hand traffic, the car even feels at home, which takes some of the worries away from users. The only component that has failed so far was the air conditioning system. In addition, the car did not require repairs significantly beyond the normal operational service.

Small = mobile

Comparing the vehicle of the "Bus through the world" team with other campervans, the question may immediately arise - why is it so small? The answer is simple - it is an expedition vehicle that is supposed to enter the most difficult places - sometimes tight, sometimes low, and sometimes hellishly difficult, where a larger car could get stuck or hang. Exploration does not focus on living in city center parking lots and creating accommodation facilities within the reach of civilization - usually the goal is nature, where life revolves around the vehicle, not inside it. Karol and Ola managed to master the art of compromise, and after so many years of traveling together, they already know exactly what to expect from their companion. The latter, in turn, gratefully accompanies them - may they continue to do so reliably, as we wish them with all our hearts! If you are eager for experiences and information, please visit the official traveler channel on YouTube. It is definitely worth keeping up to date with their trips from Poland to the most exotic corners of our globe.
