The season in Spain starts slightly earlier than in other holiday regions of Europe. Many people come there during Holy Week to watch the famous processions. Tourism organizations have estimated that the Spanish tourism sector has lost as much as EUR 18 billion over this period.

Wristbands for tourists

Tourism is a very important branch of the economy for Spain. However, so far a total of 19,478 people have died there due to the coronavirus, and 198,000 have been infected. people. As in most places in the world, restaurants, hotels and museums are closed. The tourism industry, and thus the state budget, are losing a lot of money, so it is no wonder that the Spaniards are trying to limit the effects of the epidemic, including the economic ones, and at least partially restore the tourist traffic as soon as the immediate threat has passed.

The proposal of representatives of the tourism industry concerns the wearing of bands by tourists. The green ones would be worn by healthy people, the white ones by the guests who had been cured of Covid-19, and the red ones by high-risk tourists.

The authorities also want to introduce regulations imposing separation between people in public places, but experts say that the mandatory distance project will be almost impossible to implement, including on the beaches.
