5 star campsites - Lake Garda

Baseny na kempingu Piani di Clodia

If you are looking for a premium offer on Lake Garda, these 5-star campsites on the list will certainly meet your expectations. Premium lots with a lake view, luxury lakeside cottages with a private jacuzzi or apartments with their own swimming pool? No problem - practically every of these campsites has it in their offer. In addition, swimming pools, SPA and wellness zones, animations for children and adults, the best restaurants and a unique atmosphere. Remember that May Day 2023 is already half a year away ;)

Bella Italia – Peschiera del Garda

bella-italiajpg

The camping area covers an area of 7 hectares and has as many as 400 plots, which have a privileged place in the camping compared to other types of accommodation and are located closest to the lake. Many of these plots are located on the first shoreline and have beautiful views. As befits a 5-star facility, in addition to plots, there are of course holiday cottages , apartments and even a hotel by the lake ! The campsite has direct access to Lake Garda and its own small, pebbly beach. You can also rent pedal boats or kayaks here.

Bella Italia is a real Family Park . It has a swimming pool complex with slides and a water playground next to the café and ice cream parlor. It also has several small normal playgrounds.

Attractions for children at the Bella Italia campsite

The pools are both deep and shallow, there are also slides and other water attractions. In addition, there is a relaxation area on the grass and sand next to the pools. There are plenty of sun loungers with umbrellas. Right next to the pools there is a cafe with an ice cream parlor and a spray park .

Right next to the swimming pools there is a stage with a roof where all-day animations for children and recreational activities for adults take place.

What to see near Bella Italia campsite?

There is a train from the campsite to the town of Peschiera del Garda (costs €2 per person), from where you can catch a boat and go around the entire lake. Bicycles are allowed on board some ferries. If you don't have your own bikes, you can rent them at the campsite. I especially recommend taking a ferry to the furthest town and returning to the campsite by bike.

You can also easily walk to this town (Peschiera del Garda). If you choose a bike instead of a walk, you are in the perfect place, because through Peschiera there is the eurovelo 7 European bicycle path called Ciclopisto del Sole, which can take you all the way to Mantova (30 km). If you go towards Mantova, we recommend visiting the Sigurta botanical park. You can also plan a stay at the Gardaland amusement park or Caneva aquapark .

Where to eat?

There is a very good restaurant and pizzeria at the campsite with a beautiful view of the lake . If you want to eat outside the campsite, a few steps from the gate of the campsite by the lake (when leaving the campsite turn left), there is a very good restaurant (Vecchio Mulino) right next to the lake.

Piani di Clodia – Lazise

piani-do-clodiajpg

Piani di Clodia boasts the largest swimming pool complex among all the campsites on Lake Garda, with as many as 7 of them. At least 2 of them are open outside the high season, and by the pools there are as many as 8 large slides, 6 slides for smaller children, 3 jacuzzis and as many as two rushing rivers with an artificial stream. The campsite also has its own pebbly beach by the lake.

In 2019, the campsite built new luxurious holiday cottages with a mezzanine/roof terrace and a private jacuzzi. In addition to holiday homes and plots, the campsite also offers accommodation in apartments. They are located in a separate part of the campsite and have their own swimming pool and wellness area, as well as the possibility of ordering breakfast.

Activities for children at the Piani di Clodia campsite

The campsite has pitches for football, volleyball (beach and normal), basketball, tennis and table tennis. There is also a gym at the campsite.

You will be delighted with a children's bathroom in a nautical style. The sinks are in barrels, and the water from the tap flows as if from a cannon on a pirate ship. Amazing bathroom!

A group of animators organizes all-day activities for children, and also organizes themed events such as Color Run , in which all participants are sprinkled with colored powder.

What to see near Piani di Clodia?

Be sure to hop on the ferry in Lazise and visit towns, e.g. on the other side of the lake. This trip will take you all day because you can get on and off the deck as many times as you want. If you are traveling with children, knock on the captain's door - they often allow children to enter the bridge.

In addition, I recommend visiting the vineyards in Bardolino, which produces the refreshing pink wine of the same name.

Where to eat in Lazise?

There are 3 restaurants on the campsite, a pizzeria and a takeaway bar. In addition, there are several bars near the pools. You will find plenty of good restaurants in Lazise. Just avoid those with big words Menu Turistico.

Camping Fornella -San Felice del Benaco

camping-fornellajpg

Camping is part of a huge family business in which the whole family has been involved for 50 years. Some of the family run a campsite, some run a motorboat rental , some take care of the olive grove and oil production , and others take care of the private island of Isola del Garda on which the villa is located. Recently, this island can be visited.

Camping Fornella is pet-friendly . There is a beach for dogs on the campsite, and there are places for dogs to bathe in the toilets. Dogs are allowed in all restaurants and bars. There are dog waste bins at the campsite with free waste bags. At the reception, the staff will tell you what else you can do with your pet in Garda and will help you if you need to make an appointment with the vet. There is also a dog park on the campsite.

The campsite has heated swimming pools open from April to October, including a swimming pool for babies and water lagoons for slightly older children and teenagers.

Attractions for children at the Fornella campsite

There are several playgrounds at the campsite, but it is especially worth paying attention to the brand new playground right next to the restaurant. Sanitary facilities are adapted to the height of children. There is also a babyroom , i.e. a room for bathing and changing babies.

The campsite has a rich animation program and also runs tournaments for children. In case of bad weather, there is a ball maze inside, as well as a place where art classes are held. This place is also close to restaurants.

What to see on Lake Garda?

Be sure to take a trip to Isola del Garda. You need to book a place in advance, and the entire tour takes about 2 hours. In addition, it is worth going to the Rocca di Manerbo Park. If you want to see Sirmione, I especially recommend climbing the castle tower from where you can see the entire headland.

I also recommend visiting one of the many lemon groves in this area.

Where to eat on the Garda River?

The campsite has a great restaurant and pizzeria serving local food and wine . The restaurant also makes its own ice cream. There is a terrace with a beautiful view, and in high season there is no siesta, so you can freely order food from 12 noon to 10 p.m.

If you want to eat outside the campsite, I especially recommend Ristorante Pizzeria CTS in San Felice del Benaco. The restaurant has its own playground.

Europa Silvella–San Felice del Benaco

europa-silvella-2jpg

Like the previous campsite on the list, Europa Silvella is located on the west coast of Lake Garda, about 1 km from the town of San Felice and only 4 km from the town of Salò .

The campsite has been run by the same family since 1958, has an area of 7 hectares and as many as 350 pitches.

Europa Silvella is part of Garda Bike Hospitality and offers many additional opportunities for people who want to stay on the Garda with their bike. Here you will find bicycle garages , a bicycle rental, a bicycle wash, and the bicycle storage area has cameras. The campsite also offers the possibility of renting a bicycle guide.

The campsite also offers guided hiking tours. You definitely won't be bored at this campsite. In addition to swimming pools, it has football, tennis and volleyball courts. It is also possible to launch your own boat . I highly recommend yoga classes that take place on the pier by the lake. In the evenings you can dance to Zumba, watch a cabaret or a musical, take part in quizzes, have fun by the pools at a pool party, where everyone can enjoy live music.

The campsite has many types of cottages, including, interestingly (and what you like) several 6-person cottages. The perfect solution for large families !

It is also worth mentioning that you do NOT need to wear swimming caps in the swimming pools!

Attractions for children at the Europa Silvella campsite

The sanitary facilities are adapted to the size of smaller children and in one of the buildings there is also a babyroom, i.e. a special room for bathing and changing babies.

The youngest children will love the paddling pool by the pools, animations, mini club and splash dancing in the pool. There are also plenty of attractions for older children. In addition to the playground, animators prepare sports tournaments and other activities.

What to see in the San Felice area?

Europa SIlvella is a great base to see the entire Lake Garda , but being on this side of the lake I especially recommend going trekking Valle delle Cartiere , seeing Rocca di Manerba, Isola di Garda, San Biagio "Island of Rabbits" or the castles around Valtenesi.

In high season, the San Felice area can be visited by tourist train. And if you are looking for an interesting bicycle trip , from this town you can also set off on an 18 km long route connecting 3 towns. Ask at the reception for details.

Where to eat in San Felice?

"Da Rino" in Manerba is a small restaurant serving fish caught in the lake. You can admire the view of the marina from its terrace. I especially recommend trying "Tagliolini alla Rino".

It is worth visiting one of the nearby olive groves, e.g. Cantina San Giovanni Pasini in Raffa di Puegnago or Cantina Avanzi in Manerba del Garda or Le Chiusure in San Felice del Benaco. The latter also organizes a wine tasting every Wednesday for EUR 10 per person.
