Lakes hidden in the mountains, beautiful gorges and ravines, kilometers of picturesque beaches - this is what awaits tourists in Abruzzo. Roseto degli Abruzzi, a popular Italian resort, is located on the Adriatic-Abruzzo coast.

Nowadays, it is increasingly difficult to find a place that is quiet and peaceful enough to relax, and at the same time guests will find all the comforts that a tired traveler could desire. One of such unique places is Roseto degli Abruzzi, an Italian town located in the eastern part of Italy. It is a charming, small seaside town in the Abruzzo region (Abruzzo), located in close proximity to the cities of Ascoli and Teramo.

Roseto degli Abruzzi (or simply Roseto) was once called "the place of roses", but today it is one of the most popular resorts on the Adriatic-Abruzzi coast. As a strictly tourist destination, it was born in the first years of the 19th century, and has existed since the Roman era.

Roseto degli Abruzzi – the place of roses

One of the greatest attractions of Roseto is the many-kilometer-long beach - perfect for relaxation and long, romantic walks. The resort also tempts with its beautiful architecture and picturesque surroundings. The region is home to many historic towns, such as charming San Benedetto del Tronto and Atri. The latter is especially noteworthy due to the wealth of monuments it houses. Tourists' attention is drawn primarily to the stately cathedral built in the Romanesque style. In turn, the beauty of San Benedetto del Tronto can be admired the most after climbing the Torrione observation tower - from a height of 15 meters there is a wonderful panorama of the entire city.

While in Roseto, it is worth spending some time and going to the Abruzzo National Park. This is a place where you can meet the famous Marsican bear, as well as a lynx, a wolf, a badger and an Apennine chamois. It stretches in the southern part of the Abruzzi Apennine, and its territory includes the mountain ranges surrounding the upper part of the Sangro River valley. In the southern and western parts of the park there are the Monti della Meta mountains, while in the southeast there are the Marsica mountains. Lovers of hiking between peaks will be delighted with the views of beautiful lakes nestled between mountain ranges and the Camosciara area. The local landscape consists of gorges, slopes and ravines, and the entire park area, including the surrounding ranges, is made mostly of sedimentary rocks.

Under the Italian sky

The area tempts with its beauty and you don't have to think long about whether to move on or stay here at least one night. Finding accommodation is extremely easy - Camping Village Eurcamping is available for guests traveling in campers, cars with trailers and for tourists who prefer to sleep in a tent. It is a large campsite offering visitors many amenities, including a restaurant, bar and pizzeria, mini market, volleyball, football and basketball courts, and swimming pools with a sunbathing terrace. For the youngest there is a large playground with lots of slides and swings.

It is a great place to relax, as it resembles a large garden full of oleanders, pines and palm trees. Accommodation for 2 people who plan to sleep in a tent, caravan or camper costs from 16 to 26 euros, depending on the season. The price includes access to a hot shower and electricity. You can find out more about Eurcamping on our campsite finder .

Regardless of whether someone is planning a lazy holiday in the shade of a palm tree or an active visit to the park and monuments, Abruzzo will pleasantly surprise him. And Roseto degli Abruzzi will not let you forget about it.

Venice - walk between the canals
For many years, Venice has been one of the most visited cities in Europe. No wonder - the capital of the Veneto region, or Veneto, captivates with its unique beauty and numerous attractions waiting for tourists. And there is no shortage of these, because as statistics show, the city is visited by up to 20 million people every year! Why is it worth going to Venice? What to see during a weekend trip to the city of canals?. Venice is a one-of-a-kind city. The dense network of canals, estimated at 150, creates a unique atmosphere that attracts travelers from all over the world to a holiday in Veneto . The city with an area of 412 km2 also has its own unique history, dating back to 452, when it was founded by the Venetian tribe. In later times, Venice was a democratic republic ruled by the Doges, and in the 10th century it became the greatest maritime power in the Adriatic. Crafts flourished in the city, including the production of Venetian glass and cloth making. Until the discovery of the sea route to India in the 15th century, Venice dominated trade with the entire East. The discovery of Vasco do Gama somewhat weakened the position of Venice, which remained, however, the center of outstanding architecture and art. Napoleon, who conquered it in 1797, also played a role in the history of the city. The city was later incorporated into Austria, and regained independence again in the 19th century. Currently, the city is a showcase of northern Italy, an important cultural center of the country. Due to its unusual location, it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and its economy is mostly based on tourism. However, life on the lagoon is not easy. Its inhabitants are exposed to frequent flooding, there are also difficulties in the movement and transport of goods.
