Alghero - a city located on the north-west coast of Sardinia, in the province of Sassari, has been popular with tourists for years. And no wonder, because the multitude of beautiful beaches and crystal clear water attract people thirsty for rest.
Good communication and bicycle paths are conducive to getting to know the charms of the city and its surroundings. A few kilometers from Alghero is Baia Holiday's Camping Village Laguna Blu .
History and corals
Along the entire coast of Alghero, which was ruled by Catalonia until the 18th century, there is a promenade, and right next to it a bicycle path leading to the Capo Caccia peninsula, located approx. 10 km outside the city. Many beautiful monuments can be admired directly from these routes or possibly reflected in picturesque streets.
In Alghero itself, you must see the old town , where there are fortresses, such as gunpowder towers, defense and observation towers, Columbus Bastion or Marco Polo Bastion. In addition, you can wander along the charming little streets, visiting shops and restaurants.
There is a reason why Alghero's coast is called the Coral Coast (Riviera del Corallo). The waters around Alghero abound with noble coral , considered one of the best in the world. The coral processing craft has reached excellence here. In the 1950s, the Coral Craft School was established in the city, dealing with the preparation and training of artists. Works made of this beautiful raw material can be admired in the Coral Museum , located in the beautiful Villa Costantino.
Sea and beaches
The sea is the soul of the city. Along the 90-kilometer coast of Alghero you will find sandy, white and golden beaches and small coves set against a unique landscape. Many of them, such as Bombarde, Lazaretto, Porto Conte and Capo Caccia, can be easily reached from the campsite by car, bike or simply on foot, along paths immersed in typical Mediterranean vegetation.
On the white beach in front of the resort, with a panoramic view of the city , you will find a swimming pool equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas.
Camping among pine trees
Camping Village Laguna Blu is located a few kilometers from Alghero. Immersed in the green of pine and eucalyptus trees, it looks out towards the beach, only a few steps away.
In the resort area, guests have at their disposal spacious camping spaces, bungalows and comfortable mobile homes , equipped with a kitchenette, satellite TV and air conditioning. There are also 14-meter rooms "Camra dei Coralli" with terrace and air-conditioning.
The surroundings of Camping Village Laguna Blu are an ideal place for people who practice water sports - swimming, windsurfing and sailing. On the other hand, on the lagoon you can observe birds, take up photography or learn more about archeology and fishing.
The camp site has a restaurant-pizzeria that offers regional and international dishes. All meals are prepared with fresh ingredients supplied by local producers. It is also worth tasting wines and beverages prepared on the basis of original liquors.
The surroundings of Camping Village Laguna Blu is an ideal place for practicing numerous sports and relaxing in the fresh air. Take advantage of the well-equipped gym or go jogging along the campsite, right next to the lagoon.
While kayaking you can admire the local flora and fauna. The most popular sports here are sailing, windsurfing and - above all - diving .
The bay in front of the campsite offers many opportunities for sailing, and in the Marina di Capo Caccia area, which features the Camping Village Laguna Blu beach, you will be able to dive and admire the wonderful seabed of the Coral Riviera .
Camping Village Laguna Blue is certainly one of the most beautiful spots in Sardinia.
