Eze soothing senses

Eze soothing senses – main image

The charm of narrow streets interspersed with flowering terraces overlooking the bay - this is Eze's description. This beautiful town on the French Riviera will captivate everyone who visits it. It is the best therapy for confused senses.

On the rocky French coast, almost 500 meters above sea level, lies a charming village. A picturesque road leads to it, patiently climbing up. You can get to the top of the hill where Eze is located after paying a fee. While climbing, many people will remember the fear of heights, but it is worth suffering for a while - after reaching the place, our eyes will see wonderful views. On sunny days, you can see Corsica and Saint-Tropez, and in the distance you can see the bridge that leads to Eze.

Nietzsche's town

Eze itself is a medieval town with tightly huddled houses and dark streets. Everything in it is tiny, it gives the impression of huddled and shy. However, it has its charm. Walt Disney himself fell in love with him for a reason, and Alfred Hitchock shot one of the scenes for his film here.

Eze also charmed Bono, George Sand, Bill Clinton, and Frederick Nietzsche. The latter came to him depressed by one of his life's failures. After a while he found solace and peace among the olive trees, pines and flowers. Today you can take a walk along the Nietzsche path that runs from the village to its coastal part, Eze Bord-de-Mer. It is said that the author of "Yes Spake Zarathustra" wandered this way, walking the route from the post office to the Eagle's Nest.

Blooming Eze

Even though the name of the town may not sound French, Eze is in the middle of the French Riviera and is truly romantic in French. The Fragonard perfume company is based here. From the Exotic Garden surrounding the stronghold, from tiny cafes and dozens of terraces, you can see a beautiful panorama of the bay. The whole village is wonderfully floral, which adds to its extraordinary charm. In such a sweet, delightful place, it is almost obvious that French is coming from everywhere - melodic, soft, as if made to describe love.

Tourists can admire the beauty of the landscapes at any time, thanks to the height at which Eze lies. Wandering the narrow streets, we come across the view of the bay stretching several hundred meters below. The blue of the Mediterranean waters flicker between the walls of the houses, irritating the eyesight. But it is the Cote d'Azur , it cannot be otherwise.

It's best to visit Eze before the season, in May or early June. There are not so many tourists then, and besides, hundreds of flowers bloom in every sunny corner of the town. It is an ideal place for couples in love - both those at the beginning of a relationship and those with longer experience.

Where to stay in Eze?

Eze has only one disadvantage - it is not available to everyone. He orders himself to be won while waiting at the end of the narrow road. Reaching it is problematic especially for people who came to these areas by a larger car, not to mention a motorhome. However, nothing is impossible, especially when it comes to getting to know such a beautiful place. After reaching the top of the hill, you can go back down and rest. Those looking for an overnight stay can stay at the Camping de la Laune , located approximately 20 km north of Eze. For a parking space for a motorhome and accommodation for 2 people, you will pay from 19.50 to 24.50 euro. Access to electricity costs 4.50 euros, while for a quadruped we will pay from 2 to 3 euros.

After a trip to Eze, sleep will be especially enjoyable. We will take with us the memory of the sea of flowers growing on the top of the hill and the azure blue of the water.

Strongly Canadian Dieppe
In the recent past, Dieppe had the role of the scene on which the failed Operation Jubilee took place. The Allied test landing was a fiasco, the attackers suffered heavy losses and were forced to flee. Traces of WWII events still lie on the coast, but the city does not live only in the past. Dieppe continues the tradition of the fishing town, and besides, it offers numerous attractions for tourists. Each year they attract not only Parisians, but also holidaymakers from other countries. Dieppe is a charming city located practically on the cliffs above the English Channel. Due to the fact that it is the seaside resort closest to Paris, it is very popular among the inhabitants of the French capital. From one city to the other, it takes about 2.5 hours by car, and there are regular trains between them. Dieppe is also a port (one of the busiest in Normandy), from which the ferry leaves for Newhaven. Course prices start at £ 78 per car and 2 adults (one way). With the ferry you can easily get to Brittany, as well as central and western France. And what will we visit in Dieppe itself? The city's many attractions attract tourists spending their holidays in Normandy . They are tempted by the beach surrounded by cliffs, which has already delighted 19th-century painters, including Gauguin and Monet. The local cuisine based on fish and seafood is also a big lure. Gourmets should definitely visit Dieppe in November when the Herring Festival takes place. In addition to food for the body, the resort offers food for the spirit. In the heart of Dieppe is the Villa Perrotte, an art gallery, and the 15th-century fortress, Château de Dieppe, towers over the city. Today it is a museum with an ivory collection, paintings by painters such as Renoir and Boudin, and sculptures by local fishermen. While visiting Dieppe , we will repeatedly see evidence of the durability and strength of the city's relationship with Canada. Maple leaf flags are noticeable at every step, and in Canada's Square you can see a monument commemorating the moment of Canada's colonization by settlers from France.
