Maso Corto - the pearl of the Val Senales
If someone is delighted with the beauty of the Hochjoch Glacier, he should come to Maso Corto. Especially when you feel at least confident while skiing - the routes here are mostly steep and quite difficult.
Maso Corto (Kurzas) is the main ski resort of Val Senales , the Italian valley lying at the foot of the aforementioned glacier. It is easy to get to the top of Hochjoch, and is considered by many tourists the most beautiful year-round ski area in Italy. And the valley itself is very popular with families with children. The main reason is its beauty, tourists are also tempted by the lack of crowds and friendly prices. It is a favorite training place for national teams.
The ski area is closed only in May and June, so you can go there almost any time of the year - even in summer. If June is right for us, we will not go skiing, but we can take part in the great attraction of the region - Polish Days . Compatriots visit the valley so eagerly that everywhere we find Polish subtitles, Polish menus, and even Polish instructors.
Things to do Val Senales
The glacier towering over the valley rises to a height of 3,200 meters. After ascending to the top by cable car, we find the beginning of descents of all difficulty levels. A total of 37 km of slopes await snow lovers, including the 8 km long Corteraso Valley descent for advanced skiers. Another challenge is the famous " Schmugglerrinne " black run, the most difficult of all descents in the area.
Fans of glacier carving will be pleased with the great wide pistes. Likewise, snowboard and freestyle enthusiasts - the Gentlemenriders snowpark is at their disposal, offering them a wide range of entertainment (including half pipe). Cross-country skiers have not been forgotten either. There are 17 km of routes waiting for them, as well as several-kilometer-long training loops on the glacier available all year round.

Skiing in Maso Corto
Maso Corto is at the very end of the valley. As soon as you enter the resort, you will notice that it is primarily geared towards tourism. We can find here practically only pensions, hotels, restaurants and cafes. If the area were not all year round, one might wonder how quiet it is after the season.
Those who want to vacation in a motorhome will also have no problems finding a suitable place. The Caravan Park Schnals-Senales is located right in the resort. We will pay 24 euro for the stand for the vehicle - the price includes, among others access to electricity, showers, laundry and a chemical toilet. From 17/12 to 07/01 the cost of a day's stay is 28 euro.
If someone wants to go skiing in a quiet and exceptionally beautiful place, Maso Corto is the perfect choice.
