On the beaches of Istria
Croatia is primarily rocky and rocky beaches along the Adriatic Sea. Their great advantage is cleanliness and a beautiful, crystal sea. The largest green oasis in the northern Adriatic is the Istrian peninsula - over 35% of its area is covered by forests. In this area, the sea is green and turquoise.
Istria, like the whole of Croatia, can pride itself on a centuries-old history. In the past, the Romans, Venetians and even the Habsburgs ruled there. When visiting the peninsula, it is worth seeing the historical remnants of the reign of these powers. The city of Pula with an amphitheater from Roman times is one of the most interesting places in this region. It is worth visiting Poreč , the main attraction of which is the UNESCO-listed Euphrasian Basilica . However, when looking for a picturesque beach , it is best to choose one of the stunning towns on the Adriatic.
In the shadow of the "Blue Flag"
"Blue Flag" is an international distinction awarded for exceptional care for ecology and protection of the natural environment. This designation can be used by beaches and marinas for one season, after meeting strictly defined criteria, and then they must apply for another award. The "Blue Flag" is a guarantee of exceptional cleanliness of the sea and beaches. Croatia has been at the forefront of this classification for a long time.
In recent years, the quality of water in Croatian bathing areas has been excellent or good in as many as 99% of the measuring points . On the Istrian peninsula, the Blue Flag beaches can be found in Fazana, Labin, Novigrad, Opatija, Poreč, Pula, Rovinj, Umag, and Vrsar .
The latter town is a small but very beautiful town, situated on the west coast of Istria, near the Lim Channel . Near Vrsar you will find all kinds of beaches - sandy, rocky and rocky.
The city beach is closest to Vrsar - about 500 meters from the center. It is a rocky, rocky and concrete place. This beach is also teeming with an intense social life and entertainment. There are many restaurants , bars, a sports center and a park for children.
Another beach close to Vrsar is Belvedere . Like the previously described city beach, Belvedere also has rocky and rocky ground. The naturist beach Koversada is also nearby. It is located in the Koversada Villas Natural Park . The "Blue Flag" is also flying there.
Camping Valkanela
When you want to take a break after exploring the attractions of Istria, it is worth finding comfortable accommodation. The family-run and comfortable Camping Valkanela is situated among gentle hills, shaded by trees, in a picturesque bay between Vrsar and Funtana.
