Trieste is a picturesque city located on the Gulf of Trieste, in the Carso hills. The capital of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region combines different cultures and architectural styles - it is a bit Balkan, a bit Austrian, but also very Italian. Someone who chose her as their vacation spot knew what was good. Thus, he ensured himself the opportunity to get to know Italy from the side of its rich cuisine, varied architecture and (or maybe: above all) wonderful landscapes.

In the region you will find numerous hotels and apartments, and there are also campsites. One of them is Camping Village Marepineta, belonging to the Baia Holiday chain, offering accommodation in air-conditioned mobile homes with TV and places for tents, caravans and campers.

Camping overlooking the sea

The campsite is located in Duino-Aurisina, a few kilometers from Trieste. Tourists who spend their holidays in Friuli-Venezia Giulia willingly choose it. You can see the Gulf of Sistiana and the sea surrounding the Gulf of Trieste. It's actually a camping town - both because of its size and the number of amenities it offers. There is a bar and restaurant on its premises, there is also a wide range of entertainment for enthusiasts of active leisure. Guests can relax in one of the camping pools: there is a semi-Olympic swimming pool (free of charge, a cap required) and numerous water attractions. Qualified lifeguards ensure the safety of the swimmers. Vacationers wishing to relax at the edge of the pool can rent a sun lounger and umbrella.

In addition to the swimming pools, Camping Village Marepineta offers a gym, football, basketball and volleyball courts and tennis courts. The youngest guests can splash in the shallow water of the children's pool , there is also a large playground and a team of animators organizing interesting games and fun. Adults can benefit from, among others from fitness classes.

It's great to be here!

In the immediate vicinity of Village Marepineta there is a bicycle rental , so even if we did not take our own with us, nothing prevents you from exploring the area on two wheels. There are plenty of bicycle routes - both mountain and near the seashore.

Lovers of trekking and hiking, whether for sightseeing or relaxing, will also be satisfied with their stay at the campsite. The area is crossed by numerous walking paths, allowing you to get to know the area from different perspectives. The Rilke trail (Rilkeweg) runs right next to the campsite, a promenade connecting Sistiana with Duino along the route that leads right by the sea, next to the Falesie di Duino nature reserve. The trail is named after an Austrian poet who loved the area so much during his visit to Duino Castle that he recorded its beauty in his poems (Duineser Elegien). Walking along a well-marked and secured path, partly covered with gravel, admiring the Gulf of Trieste in all its glory, we will quickly understand why he wrote that it is great to be here.

Holidays on the Adriatic Sea

The camping bar also carries the name of the precursor of existentialism. Through the gate leading from it, guests can enter the trail or buy a cool drink or a snack after returning from it. If you prefer something hot, you can visit the pizzeria and eat on the spot, or take a pizza to go. A word of attention should also be given to the restaurant. It is open every day, apart from breakfast, it serves regional and international dishes.

It is impossible to forget that we are relaxing by the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea. The gravel and sand beach can be reached in a few minutes thanks to the electric train, which runs regularly and is available for free to campsite guests. In the season, the beach can be crowded, but on the waves everyone will find a place for themselves, whether for recreational swimming, using the equipment of one of the nearby rentals, or exploring the bottom of the sea. There is a diving center in the Bay of Sistiana, waiting for those who want to discover the beauty hidden under the water surface. If you are not comfortable wearing your mask yet, you can take advantage of the free diving lessons in the campground's pool, held every Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM.

Brescia - the lioness of Italy
Located at the foot of Monte Maddalena, the second largest city in Lombardy (after Milan) is a true pearl of the region. Brescia, called the "lioness of Italy", is a rapidly developing economic center, where at the same time great importance is attached to the cultivation of tradition and the history of the region, so that it does not fall into oblivion. It is a city of contrasts, winding streets and a huge number of atmospheric places, perfect for tourists visiting Italy. Today, Brescia is a dynamically developing economic center with history in the background. It may come as a surprise that the city is not too crowded with tourists - even in high season. On the other hand, it makes it a great place for anyone who would like to get to know all the best in this country during their holidays in Italy , but without the disturbing crowds. You can start your tour from the Old Town, surrounded by the remains of city fortifications from the reign of the Venetian Republic. There are countless winding streets waiting for us there, and at every turn there is a cozy cafe where you can taste Pirlo, a combination of white wine, campari and mineral water. There are many squares in this part of the city, but one of them stands out - Piazza della Loggia . It is home to the town hall, a palace with a characteristic roof, and a building that is the center of the city's political, artistic and cultural life. Above the north-eastern part of the city, on a hill overlooking a beautiful view, is Castello . The squat walls and the multitude of fortifications of the castle testify to its strategic importance for the area. At the end of the 19th century, it was taken over by the city and now serves as a museum. On the outskirts of Brescia is the Mille Miglia , a museum dedicated to the famous car rally that starts and ends in the city and runs through the roads of northern Italy (the stop halfway through the race is Rome). The history of the rally dates back to 1927. The Mille Miglia takes place every year and is unique for two reasons - vehicles manufactured before 1957 start in it, and the route is only on public roads.
