Hanstholm Camping is in the midst of a very unique nature that characterizes your great coastal landscape, and has direct access to the North Sea. Here you will find the last desert in Denmark, and you will experience the rationale behind a future national park. The campsite itself has one of the best locations in Denmark and is at 40 meters high at the top of well sheltered dunes, pine, beech and oak. Whether you are looking for a cozy, sheltered corner with peace and quiet, a place overlooking the ocean and sunset, or a place with lots of activity around you, you will find it here. From the top of the escarpment you can see heathered dunes stretching towards the ocean as far as you can see. Here you will find a rich flora and fauna. A few rare herbs have survived here as the only place in the world. And if you like mushrooms, you don't have to search long to find king boletes, chanterelles or other edible mushrooms. In the early morning hours, you can experience deer leaving their sleeping places in the outdoor areas of the campsite. Hanstholm's light is quite unique. The colorful and sometimes dramatic sunrises and sunsets over the sea have been - and still are - a great inspiration to many painters. The beach at the foot of the slope is a different story in itself. Here you will find only a petrified coral reef in Denmark, and with only a slightly trained eye, you can quickly find a fossil or piece of amber. The last largest piece of amber ever found in Denmark was here, weighing 4.2 kg. for children During the summer holidays, children are the main focus. Two new playgrounds create safe settings for hours of play and activity. It is also a place to meet new friends if you haven't already met them in the pools. We guarantee a bathing temperature of at least 24  C and lots of fun in the water and on the slides. The new draw animal pen is for kids of all ages. Here you can pet a goat, pet a rabbit or groom a pony. All animals are used for children and are of course well cared for. Playroom for the youngest children. Here, small children can meet their parents in a cozy atmosphere. All furniture is of appropriate height for children, except the kitchen, where adults can make a sandwich or a cup of coffee. Each year more than 5,000 anglers choose to stay in specially furnished bungalows at the campsite, and thus, the site has become the meeting point for anglers in Thy. The new 300 square meter filleting house is a great place to spend time together when you come back from your trip to the Yellow Reef and it's time to clean the fish. There are also 16 large freezers in the house with good freezing ability to quickly freeze catch. We would be happy to help you reserve a place for fishing boats. In the mini-market, you will find your own fishing shop that has all the right equipment, from weft coil centrifuges and from line to nets - and fish landings at the right prices. Here you will also find everything for a lunch pack, as well as beer, wine, water, chocolate and freshly baked bread. Everyone can ride an Icelandic horse, and we have Ten big ones at the campsite, just waiting to get to the area. We ride in the area of the so-called Vigsø Bugt, which with its protection and untamed dunes landscape provides the setting for an unforgettable experience on horseback. Daily trips are broken down into small groups that are tailored to the riders' abilities, meaning everyone can participate, whether you like a wild ride or a quiet, romantic sunset ride. The campsite also has its own qualified instructor. We have daily rides including dune tours, horseback bathing, day trips within a seven hour drive, and sometimes also three Bulbjerg tours with overnight stays and all meals.
