Creative camping furniture
Today it is hard to imagine a great camping experience without a comfortable chair, armchair or a practical table. Fortunately, the range of tourist furniture available on our market is still growing.
When going camping, why is it worth buying furniture that has been constructed from scratch as touristic, and not what you can find in most garden furniture stores?
Furniture for gardens and balconies is usually heavy and cannot be folded. Such equipment in a motorhome or caravan would take up a lot of space and constitute a burdensome ballast. Meanwhile, companies that produce equipment not for gardeners, but for tourists, must ensure that their products are light and easy to assemble . They should also be extremely durable - both to weather conditions, frequent folding and unfolding, and to shocks occurring during transport.
In the mass of caravanning-related brands, we have picked out two new ones, the offer of which seems particularly interesting in terms of furniture that is useful during a camping trip. They are two international companies that offer high-quality equipment at affordable prices. The first is the French Lafuma, the products of which can be purchased in the Caravans-Mika store. The second is the Italian Beaver Brand , available in the CamperPlanet store.
Lafuma tables and chairs
The Lafuma Luisiane table (on sale for PLN 188) has four telescopic legs made of lightweight aluminum . It is very easy to unfold and fold, and when folded it is almost completely flat (4 cm thick). It will not take up much space in the motorhome, and when unfolded, it can accommodate up to four people. Its weight is 5.8 kg.
When it comes to weight, or rather lightness, the Lafuma FGX XL chair (PLN 159) is perfect. Not only is it large and looks like a typical director's chair , it is also comfortable to fold and weighs only 1.70 kg. Thanks to this, you can take them with you, for example, to the beach without lifting. The seat and backrest are made of a material resistant to moisture, mold and UV radiation. The airy fabric is easy to dry, and the frame is made of steel tubes.
The LFM folding stool (PLN 64) will be even lighter. It weighs only 1.35 kg, but in this case we cannot dream of either the backrest or the armrest. However, as a backup place for an unexpected guest arriving for a barbecue dinner, it will work perfectly.
People who want more comfort will find in Lafuma's offer, for example , R-Clip relaxation chairs (440 PLN) with adjustable backrest inclination. After folding, such a deckchair will be only 16 cm thick and weighs 7 kg.
Beaver Brand - shelves and even a kitchen
Beaver Brand also offers light tables and chairs , but what this company is especially famous for are folding cabinets that can be hung or put up.
For example, the Multiplo Blu cabinet (PLN 329) has polyester walls and MDF shelves. The construction is based on aluminum tubes and the whole weighs less than 5 kg. Such a locker can be used, for example, to store clothes taken out of bags or items that we want to have at the campsite.
A mobile kitchen (PLN 499) may seem to be an even more interesting solution. Its structure is similar to the Multiplo Blu, but this model is equipped with a comfortable top , thanks to which this piece of furniture, weighing 7.6 kg, can be used as a field kitchen. Under the table top, in openable cabinets, there will be a place for the necessary dishes or ingredients for a delicious dinner.
The Tavolo Genius folding table is also interesting, with its top made of aluminum slats (PLN 439). Thanks to its unique design, when unfolded , it can be packed into a small bag . Its weight is 7.6 kg.
Regardless of what brands of furniture we choose for a motorhome or caravan, remember to pay attention to the ease of assembly, weight and the amount of space that will be required during storage. It is best to take into account the products of proven brands that have been operating on the market for years and enjoy good opinions - this should be a guarantee of high quality.
