We have described the most spectacular vehicles that have visited the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf in a separate article. However, the largest trade fairs in Europe are dominated by vehicles that are much less effective, but more practical.

The Hobby brand has changed the Hobby Siesta motorhome series. 12 variants of this vehicle are already on sale. They are available at a price of approx. 40 thousand. euro.

New Hobbies

Customers can choose the Siesta Van models, in which the cargo space has been converted into a relaxation area, Siesta - higher and longer than standard models, and Siesta Alkoven - with an additional sleeping area above the driver and passenger area. None of these vehicles exceed the permissible total weight of 3.5 tons. The width of the narrowest models is 2.18 m, thanks to which the Siesta can also cope with narrow streets. The novelty is also more modern interiors in light shades of beige and gray.

It is also worth paying attention to the new motorhomes from the Premium series - Premium Van and Premium Drive , which are distinguished by extensive standard equipment, including dimmable lighting, 140 liter fridge, folding beds and Truma Combi 6 heating with digital control panel. The interior colors of these models are also different - the combination of dark-brown and white furniture fronts with aluminum strips makes the interior more elegant.

Among the Hobby caravans, the De Luxe Easy series is a novelty, addressed mainly to young customers. Models available in 16 variants are expected to be on average 750 euros cheaper than the more luxurious De Luxe versions.

A more functional Carado

Carado has changed the contents of its small and inexpensive Delight caravans a bit. There are new interior layouts, rounded furniture, deeper cabinets and corner kitchens. There will be no revolution, however, because the company is very keen to keep prices low, which last season provided the brand with a 10.5% increase in sales. Prices for trailers of this brand are expected to start from around 9,500 euros.

For the same reason, also in the case of motorhomes of this brand, you cannot expect big changes. The manufacturer focused on refreshing the interior to make it seem more modern and elegant. Deeper wardrobes and new LED lighting are changes that can be made without increasing prices, and this is important in times of crisis.

Dethleffs focuses on innovation

The Dethleffs brand proposed bigger changes to its offer. The new series are the Magic Edition and the Advantage series, which we will see, among others. after the changed front.

The manufacturer also offers motorhomes equipped with a 360-degree camera system. The system from several cameras combines the data into one image displayed on the monitor in real time. Thanks to this, you can see not only what is happening behind the vehicle, but also around it, which can have a significant impact on safety .

The Evan model looks interesting, with which Dethleffs wants to find a new niche on the market. It is a fully integrated motorhome with an attractive design but modest furnishings. In this way, the manufacturer wants to appeal to the tastes of young people who do not need "home" shelves in the car, but who will appreciate an interesting design, lower price and functionality.

Peugeot with a pop-up roof

In Dusseldorf, you can admire not only vehicles of brands traditionally associated with caravanning. An interesting fact is, for example, a motorhome prepared on the basis of the Peugeot Expert Tepee model. The car was equipped with a lifting roof, under which the upper bed was attached. Additional facilities include a kitchenette with a stove, sink and refrigerator. There was also a practical luggage locker.

Caravan Salon 2013 will last until September 8
