Cybercamper

What dear readers will see in a moment, does not fit into the traditional image of a motorhome. Science-fiction fans will surely find here a lot of analogies to their favorite works and inventions, but in this case, as it turns out, fiction is just a step away from reality ...
We have not yet had time to enjoy the ugliness and absurdity of the Tesla visualization in the Cybertruck version, and there is already a company that builds a marketing envelope around this vehicle and its "dedicated" bodywork. In a blink of an eye the photos went around the world, and the attention of many enthusiasts of modern gadgets and mobile lifestyle focused on "Form Camper".

What is "Form"?

From the description and the limited technical data, we learn that it is a capsule made of ultramodern composites, compatible with many pickup truck platforms, which in a few minutes can transform from a simple, really small cube into a functional motorhome with rigid walls. For now, we know that the required length of the "crate" should be 1.7-2.4 m, and even shorter delivery vans can be equipped with additional reinforcements and become motorhomes. The manufacturer announces many different equipment variants and versions.

Simultaneously with the advertisement of visualizations based on Tesla, Cybertruck conducts activities popularizing the product among fans of the leaders of this segment in the USA - that is, the monstrous (for European conditions, of course) Ford F150 and Chevy Silverado. Interestingly, the manufacturer strongly focuses on electromobility (hence, next to Tesla, the marketing marriage with the Ford F150 in the electric version of Lightning).

Form Camper - a new dimension of traveling

The innovative solution is to be independent of external gas and electricity sources. The package of photovoltaic collectors with a total power of 400W is to charge the lithium-ion batteries on an ongoing basis, thus extending their life and improving independence. In addition, under the bed there is to be a clean water tank with a capacity of 189 liters. The reverse osmosis system is to allow us to ensure the highest quality in the field.

The use of ultra-light materials such as carbon fibers and aluminum will keep the net weight at a phenomenally low level - approx. 454 kg (with a partially filled water tank, the weight will be 590 kg while driving). The outer dimensions of the capsule are 300x135x102 cm when folded. On the part of the user, by constructors' assurances will require a workload not exceeding 5 minutes. First, the part in the upper part is pulled out, then the kitchen, sink and worktop are "moved out", if it is needed. The kitchen block has a fridge-freezer and cupboards / drawers. Interestingly, two-way guides are intended to enable the use of the kitchen from the inside or outside. Between the kitchen block and the back wall there will be a fabric padded seat and a folding table that serves as a dining area. After folding it, we get a fully functional bathroom with a portable toilet, shower and door.

Already this month, the manufacturer announces the end of work on the prototype, and serial production is to begin in the second half of 2022. As part of the first production batch, 500 bodies will roll off the production line, the price of which is currently expected to be ... note ... approx. USD 69,500 (sic!)

Places to visit
Family trip to Malbork
Usually, visiting museums sounds not very interesting to children and teenagers. What can be interesting about walking through rooms filled with objects that cannot be touched and listening to the (often) monotonous voice of the guide? There is a place where a trip to the past is not only not boring - it will engage every child, guaranteeing them a great adventure. This place is not far away at all, it is waiting for little guests here, in Poland, in Malbork. Imagine a trip to the medieval castle where the Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights and his knights lived hundreds of years ago. At the beginning you receive special knight's hoods and wax tablets. The letters written on them will create a Latin maxim that will need to be translated into Polish at the end of the journey. During the expedition, you will meet a lady with a harp, a mint master and an ambersmith, and you will follow a guide dressed in an ancient costume. Discovering the secret of the castle will not be easy - the task is interrupted by a clown trying to distract your attention. At the end of the journey, you will meet the Grand Master and the monastic knights, and you will receive a special certificate, proof of being the discoverer of the castle's secrets. Doesn't such a trip sound attractive? It is not associated with moving one foot at a time from one room to another - on the contrary, the "Secrets of Malbork Castle" route arouses great interest among visitors. This is a completely different way to learn about history, as well as the opportunity to test your skills in crossbow and bow shooting, or your accuracy in throwing a spear and axe. There are more applicants than places, so it is not surprising that long queues form during the period in which it is organized (May 1 - September 30). You can go on the route every day except Monday, between 10:00 and 11:30. After leaving the interior of the castle, it is worth going to the nearby Żuławy Ceramic Village, where at one of the Artistic Crafts points you can see how easy it is to make something out of clay yourself. During the workshops, you can leave your child under the care of the instructor.
