Hobby Beachy - new for 2022

The long-announced Beachy series saw the light of day during the fair in Düsseldorf and, judging by the crowds visiting the Hobby stand, it gained the interest of a large number of potential customers. The impressive marketing surrounding the premiere suggests that the Hobby brand has thoroughly researched the market and sees great potential in the target group. Yes, but who is the target group?

At the beginning, it should be noted that regardless of the vehicle, the focus was on compact, uncomplicated and easy-to-use structures. The words "freedom", " beach ", "comfort" and "simplicity" are used in all cases. Three Beachy trailer systems of different lengths seem to be created for traveling couples and families with children. The first units of the trailers will go on sale soon, and the "beach" campervan complementing the line will be offered from summer 2022.

Beachy trailers

Compactness is a common feature of all 3 versions offered - the body lengths are approximately 360, 420 and 450 cm and correspond to the digital model designations (total length with drawbar + approx. 150 cm). The outside width is 216 cm and the height is 267 cm (inside 190-205 cm). A common element of the structure is the door located at the back of the trailer, allowing you to sit comfortably on the sofas / at the table and admire the sea (since Beachy's natural environment is the beach, this is how we imagine it). Of course, the sofas and table can be converted into a bed, which in the two shorter models will accommodate 2 adults and a child, and in the longest model, 2 adults and 2 children.

The layout inside is very specific - the interior is decorated in light colors, and there is space for all kinds of equipment in baskets, boxes and compartments included in the equipment. In the place where we would intuitively expect a bathroom/sanitary module, we will find... a large wardrobe that you can easily enter. Under the lower shelf on the floor there is an optional Porta Potti mobile tourist toilet . Next to it there is a separate kitchen area - here both the stove and the fridge are mobile appliances. According to the designers, we should be able to organize the kitchen outside in the blink of an eye. And boom - we take out the fold-out table from the living room, put the stove out and... it's ready! The removable and foldable table has another advantage - after removing it, the trailer is perfect for transporting sports equipment and other larger luggage. Even transport points and eyes have been thought of, and the large rear doors make loading a breeze and avoid damage. Noteworthy are practical standard solutions, such as discreet LED lighting on the sides and a double USB socket. The sink in the kitchen counter is connected to a 13-liter water tank.

The gross vehicle weight ranges from 900 to 1,000 kg - this means that even smaller cars can cope with the towing, and the load capacity is approximately 170 kg. Optionally, the GVM can be increased by 300 kg, which will make the load capacity much higher and allow you to transport heavier equipment without paying attention to every kilogram. Each trailer is equipped with a KNOTT hitch with a stabilizer and galvanized supports. Optionally, you can order a practical box for tools and accessories mounted on the drawbar. The prices of the base models from our western neighbors range from less than PLN 12,000. up to 14 thousand EUR.

Campervan Beachy

The Beachy Van camper also fits into a similar atmosphere - a short 540 cm long vehicle with a lifting roof will certainly be easy to maneuver and provide plenty of living space. Similarly to trailers, we also have a face-to-face sofa arrangement in the back, which can be converted into a comfortable bed. The table between the sofas is also removable/foldable, which will allow you to transport larger equipment or even shopping.

The space inside is not disturbed by any partition wall or room, just like in a carriage. The only furniture "protruding" to the waist is the kitchen module with an integrated sink and worktop. For cooking, a small, mobile gas cartridge stove is used. The capacity of the clean and dirty water tanks is 19 liters each. There is no bathroom here, only a tourist toilet hidden in one of the cabinets. The important thing is that up to 5 people can travel in this camper, and thanks to the swivel driver and passenger seats and a table with, we can create a comfortable living room at the front of the vehicle, without having to dismantle the bed at the back.

As we mentioned at the beginning, the Beachy Van model is expected to be available in summer 2022. The base will be Citroen Jumper , exact prices and equipment packages are not yet known.

Danish designer Anne Halskov is responsible for the designs of the Beachy Van trailers and camper. The design is bold and different from everything the Hobby brand has been associated with so far. The manufacturer's clear intention is to reach new target groups looking for holiday experiences - caravanning "freshmen" and young people.
