McLouis Nevis - interesting motorhome not only in appearance

McLouis is not a brand known in Poland, but in Italy, where it comes from, the name is well known to caravanning fans. The Nevis model is the only fully integrated vehicle in the company's offer, therefore it can be successfully described as the brand's showcase.

McLouis Nevis has everything you would expect from an Italian car. You can love it or hate it for its original appearance, but it is impossible to pass by it indifferently. We will discover attention to detail both in its external appearance and inside.

Nevis - Fiat with McLouis body

Structurally, Nevis is a Fiat Ducato with a changed body. It is worth mentioning, however, that although the motorhome is already several years old, in 2013 the construction of its housing was changed . Currently, the body is made without wooden elements. Instead, polyester and glass fibers are used to a greater extent. A thermosetting resin was used for insulation. Places most exposed to mechanical stress, such as around windows and doors, have been additionally secured with polystyrene.

The car is available in seven basic variants. Each Nevis model can be powered by a 130hp, 150hp or 180hp diesel engine. The smallest motorhome in this series measures 5,990 mm in length. The longest - 7.440 mm. There is also an intermediate version with a length of 6,985 mm.

Aesthetically and practically

The interior, in line with the current fashion, has been decorated mainly in two colors - walnut-colored elements combine with the white fronts of some cabinets and the white countertop in the kitchen. The shape of the countertop also influences the positive impression made by the kitchen. A table top gently bent into a practical L shape , with a rounded cupboard under the sink, can be liked. An interesting fact is that the countertop includes, among others covered opening with a trash can underneath .

The light upholstery of the armchairs gives the interior a feeling of more spaciousness. The aesthetics were taken care of even when designing the drop-down bed, which is suspended from the ceiling during the day. The bottom of this quite large bed (140 x 190 cm) is quilted, and there is also a built-in LED lamp. A table with a leg shaped like an inverted letter C also looks interesting. Among the designer flavors, we can also mention a glass washbasin in the bathroom and interesting-looking shelves above the toilet.

An interior full of ideas

Interesting interior layouts also deserve attention. Everything seems to be arranged according to typical standards, but the place seems to be better developed than in many other motorhomes. Of course, the longest versions offer the most possibilities.

Nevis 878 has a sliding door located just behind the feet of people sleeping in a large bed (142.5 x 190 cm) . A door with mirrors separates the bedroom from the bathroom. There is a chemical toilet on one side and a fairly large shower tray on the other. The washbasin was placed on the wall adjacent to the bed.

In the shortest model - 832 - we only find a suspended bed , and the bathroom is at the very end of the car. But even in this version, the bathroom is quite spacious and has a shower tray separated from the chemical toilet (which is not always standard).

Interesting equipment

I don't think we'll find any reasons to complain about the equipment. In the kitchen, Nevis can have not only an elegant 3-burner stove, but also a hood , and an oven for an extra charge. As standard, we get a 160-liter fridge with a separate freezer , a 110-liter clean water tank, a 100-liter waste water tank, Truma Combi 4 or 6 heating (depending on the version), a touch control panel with an internal temperature sensor and several cabinets for Clothes. In the larger models, there is a garage or a storage compartment that can be opened from both sides of the body. Access to all storage compartments is also possible from inside the vehicle

At first, it may seem that McLouis Nevis is a very typical motorhome, distinguished primarily by the original front part of the body. However, the more we look at it, the more we discover the features that make it a very thoughtful and therefore practical vehicle. It turns out that this Italian has not only a pleasant exterior, but also a very interesting interior.
