The automotive market has its own rules from the very beginning. Fashion and trends are of key importance here, which can be seen especially today. Universal constructions, SUVs , which used to combine features from opposite segments, are still growing in popularity. It is thanks to such a mixture of genes that cars like Nissan Qushqai are very popular, also among caravanning enthusiasts. Their higher ground clearance and optional four-wheel drive prove to be very useful, not only in alpine resorts or in snowy cities.

After the huge market success of the first generation Nissan compact SUV, the manufacturer decided to introduce its successor. In place of the subdued design, sharp lines and prominent ribbing appeared, the whole was enriched with a lot of electronic (optional) accessories , or eye -catching light alloy wheels . However, it does not have any impact on the practical side of the interior.

Traveler's interior

SUVs such as Qashqai, unlike thoroughbred off-road cars, offer a spacious cabin , ensuring high travel comfort. The interior is clearly tailored for a four-person crew , and when traveling in such a team, we have at our disposal sufficient space both in the front seats ( optionally electrically operated ) and in the rear seat - there will be plenty of space for the legs and the head. Unfortunately, the 439-liter luggage compartment does not impress with its capacity, especially compared to the compact station wagon. The situation is saved by spacious storage compartments under the boot floor , we can fit many small accessories there.

Most of them are optional

The tested specimen left the factory in the top-of-the- range Tekna trim. Leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, heated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof are just the beginning of the list of extras. During city and camping maneuvers, a set of four cameras will be especially useful, showing the image of the car seen from a bird's eye view on the navigation screen . Thanks to this facility, we can easily attach the trailer to the tow bar or place it perfectly in the designated parking spot.

1.6 dCi

When buying a Nissan Qashqai for towing a caravan, it is not even worth paying attention to gasoline engines, the only sensible choice is a 1.6 dCI diesel generating 130 HP and 320 Nm . Combined with an attachable 4x4 drive and a standard six-speed manual gearbox, it will easily meet our expectations. Thanks to the permissible towing capacity - 1800 kg - we can easily tow most of the trailers available on the market to the holiday destination. Especially when traveling without load, diesel shows its economical nature - we can easily reduce fuel consumption to 4.5 liters on the road, and around 6.5-7 liters per 100 km in the city . When driving with a trailer, the result increases by approximately 2 liters . Among the disadvantages of Nissan, we must mention the loud work of the suspension when overcoming a series of transverse bumps, as well as the electronic parking brake.

Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCI requires at least PLN 91 thousand , in the Tekna version the price increases to over PLN 124 thousand . In return, we get a thoughtful car with a functional interior for four people.
