The most important premieres of Geneva 2014

Throw in a few premieres that mere mortals have been waiting for, then pour them with a greasy and dense mass of concept vehicles - this could be the recipe for the Geneva International Motor Show. Camprest.com has extracted a few delicacies from the leavened dough of Geneva 2014.
Audi TT
Among the brands presenting "ordinary" cars, which we will surely see on European streets, it is worth paying attention to Audi. The German manufacturer refreshes the entire range of its models. The new body line is more aggressive, and the powerful grill gives it a sporty flair.
The TT model fits perfectly into this trend. It is no longer a round creature. Especially the front has become more expressive, thanks not only to the huge grille, but also to the angular lights. In the middle, instead of the usual display, we find a screen with a diagonal of 12.3 inches, which, instead of typical indicators, can display, for example, a map with navigation in the foreground.
The Audi TT will be sold with three four-cylinder, turbocharged direct injection engines.
Ford Focus
The Ford Focus face-lift is attracting attention, especially due to its appearance. It is another model, after Fiesta, with a front part resembling Aston Martin. And such a car at the price of a compact car can be quite popular.
BMW 2 Active Tourer
The BMW 2 Series, also referred to as Active Tourer, may be more surprising. Anyone who was expecting another car with sports aspirations could feel disappointed. The new BMW is a family van with a length of 4.34 meters and a height of 1.55 meters. The basic engine of the compact "Beemka" is a three-cylinder 1.5 unit with 136 HP.
Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake
Even Jaguar was interested in the family car segment. The British manufacturer of luxury cars presented in Geneva the XFR-S Sportbrake - a station wagon. The stiffened suspension and the 5-liter V8 engine with 550 hp are not the only distinguishing features of the vehicle.
Other strengths are the 8-speed automatic transmission and 380 mm (front) and 376 mm (rear) disc brakes. 20-inch wheels only enhance the aggressive look of the vehicle, which in Poland can cost around 550-600 thousand. zloty.
Citroen C1
The new Citroen C1 stands out among the smallest cars. The car is quite bold in terms of style (it is difficult to call it pretty), the shape of the body may resemble an SUV (of course, in a micro version).
The car will be powered by a 1.0 VTi 68 HP engine (with manual and automatic gearbox) and a 1.2 VTi 82 HP engine. The smaller engine will be available with a start-stop system.
Peugeot 308 - Car of The Year 2014
It was not a premiere. However, when discussing the cars shown in Geneva, it is impossible to ignore the Peugeot 308, which was announced the 2014 Car of the Year during this event. The Car of The Year title was awarded by 58 automotive journalists from around the world, 22 of whom voted for Peugeot.
The jurors appreciated the appearance and driving comfort of the French, but the economic and ecological arguments were particularly important this time. The Peugeot 308 is distinguished by its low fuel consumption, and the 120 HP 1.6 BlueHDi engine, which emits only 82 g of CO2 per kilometer, will enter production soon. This, in turn, makes him an exceptional ecologist.
We write about the most interesting concept vehicles shown in Geneva in a separate article .
