The most important premieres of Geneva 2014

Throw in a few premieres that ordinary mortals are waiting for, and then flood them with a fat and dense mass of concept vehicles - this could be the recipe for the Geneva International Motor Show. Camprest.com extracted some dried fruit from the risen dough of Geneva 2014.

Audi TT

Among the brands presenting "ordinary" cars that we will definitely see on European streets, Audi is worth paying attention to. The German manufacturer refreshes its entire range of models. The new body line is more aggressive, and its sporty character is given by a powerful grill.

The TT model fits perfectly into this trend. It is no longer a round creature. Especially the front has become more expressive, which is due not only to the huge radiator grille, but also to the angular lights. Inside, instead of a regular display, there is a 12.3-inch screen that, instead of typical indicators, can display, for example, a map with navigation in the foreground.

The Audi TT will be sold with three four-cylinder turbocharged direct injection engines.

Ford Focus

The facelift of the Ford Focus arouses interest, especially because of its appearance. This is another model, after the Fiesta, with a front part resembling an Aston Martin. And such a car at the price of a compact car can be very popular.

BMW 2 Active Tourer

A bigger surprise may be the BMW 2 Series, also known as Active Tourer. Anyone expecting another car with sporty aspirations may have felt disappointed. The new BMW is a family van with a length of 4.34 and a height of 1.55 m. The basic engine of the compact "Beem" is a three-cylinder 1.5 unit with a power of 136 HP.

Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake

Even Jaguar was interested in the family car segment. The British luxury car manufacturer presented the XFR-S Sportbrake model - a station wagon - in Geneva. The stiffened suspension and the 5-liter V8 engine with 550 HP are not the only distinguishing features of the vehicle.

Other strengths include an 8-speed automatic transmission and disc brakes with a diameter of 380 mm (front) and 376 mm (rear). 20-inch wheels only enhance the aggressive appearance of the vehicle, which in Poland can cost approximately PLN 550,000-600,000. zloty.

Citroën C1

The new Citroen C1 stands out among the smallest cars. The car is quite bold in terms of style (it is difficult to call it nice), the shape of the body may resemble an SUV (in the micro version, of course).

The car will be powered by a 1.0 VTi engine with a power of 68 HP (with manual and automatic transmission) and a 1.2 VTi with a power of 82 HP. The smaller engine will be available with a start-stop system.

Peugeot 308 – Car of the Year 2014

It wasn't a premiere. However, when discussing the cars shown in Geneva, it is impossible to ignore the Peugeot 308, which was announced the Car of the Year 2014 during this event. The title of Car of the Year was awarded by 58 automotive journalists from around the world, 22 of whom voted for Peugeot.

Although the jury appreciated the appearance and driving comfort of the Frenchman, the economic and ecological arguments were particularly important this time. Peugeot 308s are distinguished by low fuel consumption, and soon the 1.6 BlueHDi engine with 120 HP will enter production, which emits only 82 g of CO2 per kilometer. This makes him an exceptional ecologist.
