Hymer Connect app - everything under control
A few days ago, during a press conference, the HYMER brand presented the result of several years of research and development in the field of "connectivity". The complete, integrated peripheral management system for MasterLine models based on the Mercedes Sprinter has been lightened. At first glance, this is just another "app" that there are plenty of on the market, but appearances can be deceiving.
FULL integration
There are plenty of smartphone applications to control the on-board electronics, but it is difficult to enjoy such functionality if each device requires a separate program, configuration and connection.
The work on the integrated vehicle management system was undertaken by HYMER after a thorough analysis of the market and customer needs in 2017. The assumptions were then based on three pillars: interface and network support, vehicle assistance systems and mobile services. The result is one logically consistent solution that allows you to manage lighting (even in terms of lighting color and intensity), photovoltaics, batteries, heating, refrigerator (including closing signaling), alarm system and even a satellite dish.
The fruit of Hymer's long-term cooperation with Mercedes is also the integration of information about the vehicle - from mileage, through the battery charge level, error messages, and even the condition of the fuel tank or the mileage of the vehicle. We connect to the system via Bluetooth when we find the vehicle near the vehicle or by communicating with a telemetry sim card when we are away (currently the service is available in 30 countries).
Individual scenarios
The above-mentioned functionalities not only allow for the operation of individual devices depending on the needs, but also, and perhaps above all, the sequence of proposed activities can be programmed in a manner known from intelligent installations, eg in the KNX standard (something similar to the "scene").
When deciding to return from the slope to the motorhome after a day of white madness, we connect with the vehicle by giving one-button commands: turn on the light, turn on the heating to the set temperature, turn on the water heating, activate the opening of the satellite dish.
A system with a vision
The full spectrum of functionalities will be available from the first quarter of 2021, but all MasterLine series vehicles manufactured from September 2019 will be able to be "armed" with the device and application control.
From the application level, it will also be possible to contact customer service directly at Hymera's headquarters - e.g. in the event of an emergency, ordering spare parts. The application will also integrate the locations of the dealer and service network points, as well as help in navigating to parking / accommodation points.
