Jakub Faryś, president of the Polish Automotive Industry Association, says: "We are very happy to note that Q1 2024 - after not the best results of the last few quarters - turned out to be very good for most brands. First registrations of new camping vehicles increased by over 40%, used ones by over 70%, new trailers by 10% and used
at 7%. These results show that the trend that began during the pandemic continues and we can count on further increases. It should also be added that Q1 and Q2 are the time when caravanning enthusiasts buy vehicles
with the holidays in mind. It is also important that we have already had problems with the availability of chassis on which camping vehicles are built, but also that several intensive advertising campaigns dedicated to camping vehicles have recently appeared. All
“This means that we can look at the future of caravanning with optimism.”
Sebastian Klauz, vice-president of PGC, publisher of the Polski Caravaning magazine, comments: " There has been a major shake-up in the industry. The 41% increase in registration of new campers is a fantastic result, which is similar to the result in 2022. Last year, every member of the camping industry could only dream of such growth, which makes us even more pleased with the real result. After market difficulties in 2023
VW once again shows the competition its capabilities, achieving the best result in history. The second position of the Benimar brand, which has been consolidated for several quarters, seems unthreatened. Growth
up to 72% in the used vehicle category is also something new and unique. This may indicate a large supply in Western Europe. On the other hand, it shows the willingness of society to practice this form of recreation, which, despite the high prices of new vehicles, is looking for an alternative to pursuing a hobby. The situation is similar in the field of caravans. The increases are smaller, but still clearly visible. In the first quarter, a record number of used trailers were imported into the country. In the sales of new trailers, it is worth emphasizing the strengthening of the first position by the Niewiadów brand. Other manufacturers also see the trend of customer interest in small trailers and respond by offering smaller models. Here it is worth considering whether customer interest is due to lower prices or whether it is driven by the need for a more mobile camping vehicle. Spring shopping is ahead of us and we hope for a continuation of the growth from the first quarter .
