Holidays in Italy are usually associated with a large family trip, worn out holiday T-shirts, lying on the beach and consuming large amounts of pizza and wine. And good! However, what should we do if we would like to visit sunny Italy "in style", without losing the opportunity to get to know, apart from the big cities, also the idyllic provinces? Well, then it is worth choosing joyful Puglia - one of the most unique regions of this country. Puglia has been attracting tens of thousands of tourists for years - located at the very tip (the famous "heel") of Italy, it represents all that is best - plenty of sun, elegant resorts with wide, sandy beaches and tiny towns and villages full of surprising architecture. In addition, Puglia is described as a "stylish" region - elegant architecture, refined rich cuisine and culture adhering to the "dolce vita" principle create a wonderful mixture here.

Standing at the "end of the world"

A trip to Puglia will be a unique experience for everyone. It is worth starting in Bari , the capital of the region, a city with a unique atmosphere. For hundreds of years it was one of the most important and richest ports in Europe - today its splendor can be admired, among others, in Bari Vecchio , or "Old Bari". Narrow streets and tenement houses of rich guilds and merchant families rising next to each other, or the gold-shining ceiling of the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica. Nicholas are silent witnesses of local history. In Bari, it is worth breathing deeply the fresh sea air - preferably walking along the seaside boulevard towards the setting sun. At the end we will find the mighty Fort St. Anthony - formerly protecting the inhabitants of Bari, today an elegant and extremely popular art gallery.

From the capital of the region, it is worth going to Foggia - a small town where you can get to know the real, traditional food of Puglia . Yes, this is where the best olives, grapes and the world-famous mozzarella di bufala come from, which tastes best on traditional, crispy pizza. The next step is the magical, spectacularly located town of Ostuni , with hundreds of white houses almost hanging on a rock cliff with sea waves crashing against it. The city, built on a hill, is dominated by the huge cathedral, and beneath it are kilometers of narrow, steep streets dating back to the times of ancient rulers. At the end of your holiday in Puglia, you must explore the rich and surprising world of the local province. The best – in Alberobello, the famous "white village". Anyone who sees the local clay houses in the form of a rotunda – trulli will certainly dream of taking one of them with them!

Green Elba
Today it is hard to imagine that exile to a beautiful island covered with Mediterranean vegetation can be a punishment. For Napoleon, however, it was quite painful, given that he was an ambitious person and, if he could, he would control several places at once, instead of being stuck on a piece of land surrounded by water. Meanwhile, it is enough to get to know this piece of land to envy the French emperor more than sympathize. Elba is the largest of the Tuscan Islands archipelago and the third largest island in Italy. It is situated on the border between the Mediterranean and the Ligurian Sea, and is approx. 10 km away from the coast. The long (almost 147 km) coastline attracts thousands of people every year for whom vacation in Italy is the time of sunbathing. There are beautiful beaches with golden sand and rocky, unfriendly to bare feet. The first group includes, among others Marina di Campo , Fetovaia or Cavoli, and to the second - Capo Bianco and Le Ghiaie. There are many steep cliffs on Elba, natural obstacles preventing you from reaching the wildest places by non-sea routes. The island teases the tourist this way, both tempting and demanding. The persistent ones are rewarded with views of picturesque coves, colorfully colored cliffs and lush greenery. Elba is also a place with the atmosphere of a fishing village. It is loved by divers, both beginners, who can explore, for example, the Pomonte wreck, lying on the bottom at a depth of 10 meters, as well as professionals. They prefer places like Capo Stella , where smooth-skinned moray eels swim between the red coral. On land, tourists spend their time equally interesting - on excursions, mountain climbing and a number of other activities (including a cable car trip to the top of Monte Capanne).
