Caorle - between two lagoons
One of the great strengths of Caorle is its location - and it's not just about the beauty of the area. The popular Italian resort is located roughly halfway between two lagoons: the first encircles Venice and its islets, and the second breaks into a gentle semicircle at Marano and Grado, starting at Lignano Sabbiadoro. It is sometimes called the twin of the Venetian Lagoon.
A great idea for a vacation in Italy
Caorle needs no introduction. Despite the great interest it enjoys among tourists, the resort has not lost its charming character and has not been "stifled" by commercial, unlike its neighbor, Lido di Jesolo. It is a great place to relax for couples in love, singles eager for adventure, as well as for families with children. Holidays in Caorle are pleasantly spent both by sunbathers who intend to lie blissfully on a sun lounger and catch a tan, as well as amateurs of squeezing maximum impressions from each day. For the former there are wide, clean beaches with well-organized infrastructure, for the latter - aquaparks. Romantics can stroll for hours along the seaside boulevards, wander through the yacht harbor and head towards the beautifully restored old part of the city. Without a doubt, Caorle is one of the most beautiful resorts of the northern Adriatic coast.
A paradise for sailors, or Porto Santa Margherita
The mouth of the river Livenza separates the center of Caorle from what is considered a separate resort area and a kind of tourist bedroom. It is called Porto Santa Margherita and is adored by sailing enthusiasts. It was established in the 70s of the last century, and over time it becomes one of the largest marinas for sailing boats and yachts on the northern coast of the Adriatic Sea. The impressive size of the port basin attracts people who love spending their free time on the waves from all over the country (and not only). From the mainland, it looks just as good, so it's no surprise that the surrounding restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes are crowded. Porto Santa Margherita tempts with a calm atmosphere and fairly friendly prices - compared to Venice and its neighboring resorts, and even Caorle itself. The beach stretches along a long strip, and the sand covering it is fine and loose, which makes it very pleasant to walk around. People who like to spend time actively can explore the area from the perspective of a bicycle. Cyclists can enjoy numerous bike paths running through green areas and along the beach. In addition to sailing, classic swimming or surfing, you can also play tennis on one of the courts or roller-skate. Of course, the options for an active holiday in Porto Santa Margherita include walking along the paths along the pine forests. Caorle is reached by a small ferry that runs regularly. It carries both passengers (one-way trip costs approx. EUR 1) and cars (approx. EUR 1.8).
Camping in Caorle
People looking for accommodation in Caorle or relatively close to the resort will like the offer of local campsites. Not only are there a lot of them - they are characterized by a large area (from a few to several hectares), where tourists will find everything they need to be happy. They are practically self-sufficient camping towns. Among the facilities located in the vicinity, Camping Laguna Village stands out, offering the possibility of relaxing in the shade of a pine forest and enjoying the views of the sea and the beach every morning. Guests can use the restaurant, supermarket, access, among others. to the laundry room, among the numerous amenities there is also a swimming pool. The historic center of Caorle can be reached from the campsite on foot, and the excellent communication between the neighboring resorts allows you to easily travel both ways and discover other attractions of the coast.
