Holidays in Poland? Why not?

Holidays in Poland? Why not? – main image

Holidays are the best time to go somewhere longer with family or friends. Travel agencies tempt us with offers of holidays and sightseeing trips, mainly abroad, a few months before the holidays. Maybe this year, instead of a long journey, you could choose a holiday in Poland? What are the advantages of relaxing in the country?

Why Poland?

Holidays in Poland do not have to be solely a manifestation of patriotism and supporting local companies. Fuel prices around the world have reached very high levels, which means that the further we want to go, the higher transport costs will be. Modernized Polish roads make it possible to reach the desired holiday destinations faster and faster. Polish accommodation facilities often exceed the standard and cleanliness of similar facilities in popular tourist destinations somewhere in southern Europe, which only look beautiful in photos on the Internet, but are cheaper. The developing accommodation base provides a large selection of hotels, guesthouses, apartments, guest rooms and cottages for rent. Everyone will find something for themselves, provided they are booked early enough. Counting on last minute deals that were fashionable a few years ago is very risky.

When looking for holiday offers, it is worth looking for proven accommodation. E-Wczasy.pl is a database of such proven offers, including: for holidays by the sea:

Close and familiar

The main advantage of holidays in Poland is that we know what we can expect. We will not face a language barrier or communication problems with the inhabitants of the country where we are vacationing. Familiar Polish conditions are especially important when traveling with children who are accustomed to the native lifestyle and home-made food. Regional names of dishes may sound a bit exotic, such as Kashubian zupa bradowa, zylc, ferkase, Młodzowy kuch or ruchaniece, but we can expect that their taste and consistency are more suited to Polish tastes than dishes of cuisine from other nations. In Poland, we feel more confident knowing how the facilities that we can use while on holiday, such as shops, restaurants, public transport and health care, operate.

Holidays on the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is a great place for a family holiday with children. The Polish coast has not yet been developed with hotels, and the beaches are not covered with bathing areas, packed with deckchairs and beach umbrellas for rent. Sand dunes and clay cliffs as well as vast areas of unspoilt nature provide an opportunity for walks, bike rides, enjoying beautiful views and breathing healthy seaside air. A stay at the seaside does not have to be limited to the beach, especially since the weather on the Baltic Sea is not pleasant. What to do to avoid getting bored? You can easily find monuments and museums nearby, water sports instructors and equipment rentals, amusement parks and other attractions that will make your stay more enjoyable.

Attractions of the Polish coast

A stay on the Baltic Sea may be an opportunity for an unusual lesson in the history of war struggles at the ORP "Błyskawica" Ship-Museum in the Gdynia port, the Coastal Defense Museum in Hel or the Polish Arms Museum and the open-air maritime museum in Kołobrzeg. You can learn about the traditions and lifestyle of the Kashubians in the Museum of the Puck Region, and in the open-air museum in Kluki near Lake Łebsko you can see how the old Słowiniec people lived. In the Słowiński National Park it is worth seeing the shifting dunes, and in Trzęsacz near Rewal, the remains of a medieval church on a cliff washed by sea waves. The Oceanarium in Międzyzdroje, the Aquarium in Gdynia, the SeaPark in Sarbsko near Łeba and the sealarium in Hel allow you to get to know the marine fauna. In addition to all this, there are numerous family and theme parks scattered along the entire coast.

Optimal time and place

The shape and climate of the Polish Baltic coast are favorable for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Particularly friendly conditions occur in the calm waters of the Bay of Puck, and Jastarnia, located on the Hel Peninsula, is a perfect place to start your adventure with water sports. Cycling enthusiasts will find many scenic routes along the coast. With a bit of perseverance and visiting five lighthouses open to the public, you can try to obtain the "Bliza" Lighthouse Lover badge. Holiday relaxation should, above all, provide a break from what we experience every day: noise, rush and stress. You just need to choose the right place and time.

VW what to play in Silesia part 1 by VW T3 Klub Górny Śląsk
Sometimes we want to go on a trip, short, casual, close and interesting. She learns about such places from friends, sometimes she comes across them by accident. We are happy to drop off a few such places in Silesia. We hope that, in return, someone will describe their region or give us a nice place in our area. We will start with the letter B, b for. Będzin - is our Christmas discovery, the weather was good, so after a family dinner we decided to take a walk. We drove to the very top of the hill, up to the playground for children, you can get there by driving along the walls of the old cemetery. Playground for children of all ages (even those in their thirties will find something for themselves) nice and intimate, enough equipment for a large number of children (slides, swings, spiders, rocks, and even a mini stage). From the square, you can walk to the castle hill along very well-lit paths, walk the reconstructed rampart and see the dugouts. You can see the castle in the background of the city from above, it is also worth visiting the church of St. Trinity, which is also nice to walk around and end the trip under the airline shelter in the basement of the hill (you need to make an appointment in advance by phone from Monday to Friday at 32 267 77 07, on Saturdays and Sundays at 32 267 47 31, more information about Bedzin and the undergrounds http://www.muzeum.bedzin.pl/ ).
