Camping with my grandparents

There is still a common belief that parents are responsible for raising children and grandparents are responsible for spoiling. However, in today's busy times, grandparents and grandchildren see each other less often than they would like, and the meetings are short. So how to maintain good contact with the youngest generation? How to make grandma be associated not only with an old lady who offers sweets, but also with a close person from whom she can learn many interesting things? One way to strengthen your contacts may be to go camping together.

Trip with grandchildren

You can use the small steps method and start by having a picnic in your home garden, pitching a tent or spending the night in a camper parked in front of the house. When both parties like this way of spending time, you can organize a trip outside the city without your parents or go camping by the lake .

Two generations having fun together

Some people may fear that a longer stay with children without parental supervision may simply tire the grandparents. It should be borne in mind that not all retired people are active enough to be able to play continuously with energetic toddlers. This is understandable, so such a trip would be based on learning together , and not on exhausting games and fun.

During the trip, grandparents can tell their children in an interesting way what they played with as children. They can teach them, for example, how to recognize different species of flowers and what to pay attention to when observing animals encountered while visiting. Someone might ask: what can an older and experienced person learn from a child? Well, maybe it's quite a lot - when you spend a long time with your baby, you can remember what it's like to pay attention to details that are most often ignored in everyday life. You can see children's joy in little things and discover again that they once gave us a lot of pleasure.

"Because fantasy, fantasy, fantasy is what this is for..."

Let your grandchildren feel involved in organizing the rest of the trip at all times. In addition to the typical question about what they would like to do, you can also encourage them to collect various souvenirs - colorful stones or leaves with interesting shapes. A great idea is to record videos and take photos, which will then be used to create an album from the trip. At night you can observe the stars, organize a barbecue or light a bonfire to tell ghost stories. Parents might look at it a bit differently, but they don't exist...

Campsites are usually in beautiful locations, so during the day you can swim and fish in the lake or go cycling around the area. Such a stay guarantees that your grandchildren will be looking forward to their next trip with their grandparents.
