Where to eat on Lake Garda and Lake Ledro in Garda Trentino

When traveling around Italy, we have the impression that you can really eat well everywhere. In each region, different ingredients predominate, and the form of preparation may also be different. But it doesn't matter whether you eat at a roadside bar or a 4-star hotel, everywhere is simply delicious. Today we will offer you places that we visited in June 2022 in the Garda Trentino region. Each place has a completely different atmosphere and serves something different, but each is worth visiting at least once.

Ristorante Camping Zoo Arco

Who said you have to go somewhere outside the campsite for dinner? This year we ate quite often directly at the campsites and each place was super tasty. In addition, it is much easier to book a table directly at the campsite than by calling a restaurant in the city.

Remember that at the Zoo campsite there is a break between lunch and dinner. This means that the kitchen is closed from 2 p.m. to about 7 p.m. During this time, you can eat bar meals in the restaurant, i.e. salad, sandwiches and fries, just like us :)

Alla Lega Restaurant – Arco

The restaurant is located in the heart of the old town of Arco, in a centuries-old tenement house. The tables are located in the courtyard and a canopy of ivy hangs over them.

We chose beef in wine sauce and rabbit with polenta and salads. We also highly recommend ravioli and mussels.

Leon d'Oro – restaurant in Riva del Garda

The restaurant celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. If you are looking for a restaurant with tradition, this is the perfect choice.

Leon d'Oro restaurant is a must-see on your culinary trip to Garda Trentino. We come here every time we stay on Lake Garda. Luca (the owner) always cares about fresh and local products and has a great, close-knit team in his two restaurants. Everyone really cares about the well-being of their guests.

If you want to eat here in the evening, be sure to make a reservation in advance (even out of season). While you're here, say hello to Luca and ask him to tell you more about the food he serves here. I'm sure he'll be happy to do it if he has time.

La Colombera – restaurant in Riva del Garda

This restaurant is a paradise for gluten-free people. It is located in a somewhat rural setting on the outskirts of the city, among vineyards and bicycle paths.

Why is it a paradise for celiacs? Well, the restaurant has been AIC certified for several years and in fact most of the menu is gluten-free. There are literally 4 items on the menu that contain gluten.

Particularly noteworthy in my opinion was the pear ravioli.

Steak House Al Sole – a restaurant on Lake Ledro

Camping Al Sole on Lake Ledro has a very good restaurant and pizzeria on its premises. It's especially worth eating pizza here, and if you like steaks, be sure to eat tagliata.

Desserts are also unique and prepared on site. The restaurant has a large patio overlooking the mountains and a large room inside. There is a very relaxed atmosphere here - like at a campsite :)

Ristorante Maggiorina – restaurant in Pieve on Lake Ledro

The restaurant is part of the hotel of the same name. What surprised us, however, was that mainly local residents ate lunch here. There is one conclusion - it is really tasty and nice here.

It is also worth paying attention to the fact that you can eat several gluten-free dishes here, including: gluten-free carrot cake.

Birrificio Artignale Leder

This local brewery has been operating for 7 years and has some connection with... the Czech Republic. During the war, many women with children from this region fled to the Czech Republic, and when they returned, they brought Czech traditions with them, so here and there on the Garda River you can drink Czech hop beer and even eat garlic soup prepared by our neighbors.

The brewery is located in Pieve and is situated in a green and shady area close to the bicycle path. If you want, you can hear from the owners about the brewing process and different types of beer. You can also check out the production.

Elda – Eco Ambient Hotel – restaurant in Val Concei on Lake Ledro

We highly recommend coming here not only for the food, but also for the experience called "Nature at your table". This event can only be booked on gardatrentino.it .

Your lunch starts with... a walk. At 10.00 in the morning you meet the chef with whom you will collect herbs and flowers from the surrounding meadows and forests. At the same time, you can listen to which plants and which parts of them are edible and which are not. Then you will cook dinner together from the collected goods.

A very interesting experience! Currently it takes place once a week.

Elda - Eco Ambient Hotel is a good starting point for a hiking or cycling trip to the Val Concei valley .

Agritur La Dasa

In this agritourism farm you will eat almost exclusively what the hosts grow and grow on site. In addition, this place offers an amazing view of the valley and Lake Ledro.

This is a great stop on the surrounding MTB trails. There is also a large parking lot for passenger cars near the agritourism farm.

Ristorante Pizzeria Camping Al Lago

The restaurant at Camping Al Lago is another example of the fact that you can eat very tasty food at campsites. The service in the restaurant is very nice and helpful (as is the case throughout the campsite). This is the only restaurant in this area where our kids were given markers and coloring books.

There is a playground directly in front of the restaurant, which can be clearly seen from the tables.

In high season, reservation is necessary!

Familia Cooperativa di Comano Terme

It's not a restaurant... just a shop and another experience that you can book on gardatrentino.it. When booking this event on site, you pick up a picnic box and go for lunch outdoors. The box comes with a map indicating the best places to rest in nature.

We chose the park by the river.

Grand Hotel Terme di Comano

We ended our week-long trip in a quite exclusive restaurant in the Grand Hotel. The menu is a tasting menu with several choices, but children can simply get pasta with sauce. There is a nice view of the park and excellent service. A perfect place to celebrate an important event.
