In the international Red Dot competition, promoting good design in applied art, the Arto motorhome by Niesmann + Bischoff was awarded. It is all the more significant as motorhomes are rarely appreciated in this type of competition.

A large, panoramic window at the front, a slightly pugnacious grill, exposed to the front, with which the headlights blend in perfectly, as if slightly hovering at the corners of the front wall and side walls - the front of the Arto motorhome could in particular attract the attention of the Red Dot Award jurors, who had quite a task.

The 40-person jury had to evaluate a total of 4,800 designs submitted by 1,816 manufacturers, designers and architects from 53 countries around the world. But the camper also appealed to customers - apparently so much that all production for this year has already been reserved.

By awarding the award to Arto, the jurors appreciated, above all, the well- thought-out aerodynamics of the vehicle , consistent construction and high-quality workmanship.

In order to conquer not only the hearts of design specialists, but most of all demanding customers, Niesmann + Bischoff has established cooperation with the designer Judith Milberg , who is primarily responsible for the interior of motorhomes. Therefore, we can be sure that also inside Arto, every detail has been thought out in terms of both functionality and aesthetics.

Endless variations

Customers can choose from 19 variants of the interior layout and several types of upholstery. However, the possibilities of various combinations are so large that the manufacturer even mentions more than 500 acceptable variations. This means that it will be difficult to find two identical Artos.

Although it would be hard to guess from the outside, Arto is based on the Fiat Ducato. The shortest and cheapest motorhome was marked with the symbol 59 GL and measures 6,458 mm. Its price in Germany is 80,580 euros . At the opposite extreme, we find the top version 88 F with a length of 8,763 mm, available at a price of 107,810 euros. The permissible total weight of this vehicle is 5 tonnes.

Depending on the version, the car can accommodate 2 to 5 people , with usually more sleeping places than seats equipped with belts. So, when choosing a car with five beds, we must take into account that we can take a maximum of 4 people on a journey.

Equipment on a level

The standard equipment of all Arto versions is similar. Only the water and sewage tanks can vary in capacity from 120 to 200 liters . In addition, as standard we will receive, among others 106-liter refrigerator , Truma Combi 6 heater and 4 230 V sockets. The list of available accessories is very long, so you can think that even the most demanding customers will be able to equip their camper with everything they need.

There is probably no need to dwell on the materials used in the interior. They are of high quality and blend well with a fairly modern design.

It is worth emphasizing, however, that the Arto is the cheaper of the two vehicles currently available from Niesmann + Bischoff. True luxury is to be offered only by the Flair model, but it must be admitted that it is eliminated in one category at the start. In terms of appearance, Arto is the undisputed leader.
