Concorde Centurion - take a trip by truck

The Centurion is the flagship model of the Concorde brand. This huge truck from Germany can successfully compete with the most "fancy" camping buses of American manufacturers.

Big maybe more. A huge motorhome means no compromises resulting from a small space, and also allows you to install almost any equipment. Americans dominate the production of camping vehicles in XXL sizes, but I must admit that their work has not always aroused my admiration. Looking at them, I often got the impression that luxury and glamor cannot be combined with class and good taste.

But Concorde Centurion is completely different. From the outside, it does not pretend to do anything - you can see that it is a Mercedes Actros , which in the longest "camping" version can measure up to 12 meters ! Inside, we find a lot of luxury, but closed in a discreet and modern form. White leather upholstery, fronts of some furniture or a white sink, go well with other furniture, mostly made of dark wood. The floor also looks as if it was made of high-quality wood.

A heavy and strong monster

As I mentioned, the base for the Centurion is the Mercedes Actros. The most powerful version has a 12.9-liter engine (six-cylinder, turbocharged) with 422 hp .

Most of the devices supporting the passenger compartment are installed between the huge wheels and the floor. There is an abundance of space there, which is why it fits, among others, 12 rechargeable batteries weighing 700 kg , which can be charged with solar batteries (420 Watt). There is also a 400-liter waste water tank above the wheels. In the rear part of the vehicle, you can make room for a comfortable, illuminated garage for a Smart or Mini . The entire Centurion has a load capacity of 10 tons.

Studio apartment with a pull-out living room

The owner of a Centurion may declare that he is the owner of a studio apartment which is not the smallest. The total living area of the Centurion 1200 is as much as 27.5 m2 . It is possible, among others thanks to the retractable side wall, which in this large car allows you to enlarge the living room even more. A drop-down bed suspended from the ceiling will also help to make good use of the space.

People traveling on the Centurion will surely have no reason to complain. The striped embroidered sofas can be treated as a mere harbinger of comfort. We can experience luxury by using seats with air suspension (there can be a maximum of 5 of them).

Control and monitoring system

Of course, this huge motorhome has a full-size shower cubicle, large sunroofs and everything that we can expect from a top-class motorhome. The equipment includes, among others dishwasher and coffee machine (Lavazza). But what would such a car be if it didn't surprise us with anything ?! In the Centurion , not only the floor can be heated, but also the roof and side walls . In addition, the car is equipped with a system of 16 cameras ! Thanks to them, the driver can observe everything that is happening around the vehicle on several screens.

The control panel located above the side doors resembles the instrument panels of spacecraft , known from fantasy movies. The multitude of buttons and indicators can make you dizzy, or at least make you look through the instruction manual.

The price of the Concorde Centurion Liner 1020 G model (10-meter model with a Smart garage) is just over PLN 450,000 in Germany. euro . But the top 1200 version will surely turn out to be a bit more expensive ...
