Experienced caravanning fans are increasingly aware of the dangers of overweighting motorhomes in the tonnage category up to 3.5 tons. Many of them are also aware of the comfort and uncompromising space that "giants" offer. The German brand Bürstner is known to Polish customers mainly for the excellent quality of caravans, campervans and semi-integrated vehicles, but among large cruisers it also has some really refined gems to offer. Today we will look at the three-axis integrated, I910G. The Colossus is 899 cm long, 305 cm high and 234 cm wide. The permissible total weight is as much as 5.5 tons.

In less than 9 meters you can fit quite a lot - Bürstner has planned the space with comfortable escapades for 4 people in mind. The first glance from the outside leaves no doubt what kind of league we are dealing with. The motorhome based on the front-wheel drive Mercedes Sprinter looks really impressive.

Automatically controlled front lighting, ABS, ESP, ASR, air suspension, as well as the assistance of the electronic brake force distribution system in combination with a 3-axle chassis - all this ensures safety and stability regardless of the circumstances.

The vehicle can be ordered in white, silver or champagne. Especially the last two make an amazing impression and match the majesty of a muscular figure. The walls, roof and floor of course comply with the latest insulation and tightness standards (XPS foam). The thickness of the walls and the roof is 34 mm, while the floors - 30 mm.

Self-sufficiency and convenience

The manufacturer emphasizes self-sufficiency and full independence while traveling - in the case of a couple it is up to a week. And here it is worth highlighting a few features that distinguish the model. The tank has a capacity of 92 liters (AdBlue tank 22 liters), we will take 140 liters of water on board. When it comes to gray water and fecal management, we have a 110-liter gray water tank and a 50-liter fecal tank. It was this model that was the first to use (initially exclusively) the Thetford INDUS system .

Together with the motorhome, the customer receives a mobile tank for liquid waste with a capacity of 19 liters, which can be disposed of at gray water discharge points, “relieving” the on-board reservoir. In the field of electrics, apart from the standard battery in AGM technology with a capacity of 95 Ah, we can order its multiple or lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 135 Ah each. The optional solar installation with a power of 100 or 2x100W will take care of recharging the supplies.

The standard heating system is the ALDE system based on glycol, which guarantees thermal comfort even in the coldest months of the year. The optional additional on-board heating connected to this system makes the motorhome a real winter fortress - for skiing madness as it found.
The garage and the door leading to the cab and the superstructure are coupled together into one central locking system - conveniently and without any problems, it allows you to secure and unlock access via a button on the remote control.

Proven and refined system

The interior of the vehicle is arranged in a conventional manner, well-known from similar constructions of the concern, to which the Bürstner brand belongs, but there are several well-thought-out solutions that have a positive effect on comfort and functionality.

To the right of the wide entrance door in XXL format, there is a living room with face-to-face sofas, and above it, an electric and noiseless lowering bed measuring 147 x 194 cm. At the entrance there is a cleverly thought-out swivel mount for a 32-inch TV.

A lot of space for the realization of culinary passions can be found in the kitchen - the drawers are fully customizable, the retractable cargo-type organizer will facilitate the storage of many necessary products, and the sink has fittings located on the wall, which saves space and facilitates keeping order. We have 2 gas-fired and one induction heating zones and a large refrigerator with a capacity of 177 l (35 l freezer).

The bathroom layout has been masterfully planned - the impression of space is amazing, and by closing the bulkhead wall to the front and rear of the vehicle, we have a large bathing room at our disposal. This room consists of a separate, large shower cubicle, washbasin, toilet and a huge wardrobe, to which we also have access. It is a very practical solution.

The bedroom at the back of the vehicle houses two single, but interconnected beds with dimensions of 200x104 cm. There is an enormous garage underneath them, which can be accessed from both sides through large service hatches.

We have a double floor along the entire length of the vehicle, which is not only an excellent insulator, but also offers additional luggage space.

Summary

Everyone seriously interested in buying a motorhome over 3.5 tons will find an option definitely worth considering here. The Mercedes Sprinter is an excellent base, and the bodywork was carried out in a masterful manner. The abundance of storage compartments, modern design and tasteful interior lighting solutions are the basic elements that catch the eye of every experienced expert. The weight in running order, amounting to less than 4.2 tons, means that we have as much as 1,300 kg to be used. Since the rear of the motorhome rests on a solid, double axle, we can easily use the reservoir of the rear garage without worrying about pressure on the rear.

Trip # 1 Southern Europe by Tripciak Crew
Introduction word: This is our first report and at the same time such a long journey, so we will start with a few words of the introduction in which we will tell who we are and where our teaser for exploring the world in the bus came from. We are students of the 3rd year of Tourism and Recreation at the University of Physical Education in Katowice. Our fascination, or rather Bartek who infected us with it, started already in his childhood when he saw the Scooby Doo cartoon and their "The Mystery Machine" on TV for the first time, then he began to dream of his own bus in which he could travel the world and experience various adventures like the Scooby Doo crew. After a dozen or so years, he woke up and took matters into his own hands, passed his driving license and started to get a part-time job, thanks to which he managed to save a little money for his dream van. Initially, it was supposed to be a VW T1 or T2, unfortunately, after researching the market and counting the costs of buying a car and parts needed for it, the enthusiasm decreased significantly ... but finding the busikt3.radom.pl forum by accident, where he saw the T3 bus immediately caught his eye. Bartek has always liked square cars, he had many golfers and II fans of which he was a fan, so it didn't take him much time to fall in love with a classic square ... he literally just took one photo and a few seconds. The first step to making dreams come true was a long search for the desired house on wheels, half a year of searching, hundreds of advertisements, dozens of phone calls and the t3 bus forum came to help again. We managed to buy a bus literally under the nose, it turned out that only 200m from the place where Bartosz's girlfriend lived, there was a card that met all his requirements, so at the very beginning of February a bus appeared in the yard;) The plans for renovation of the bus and planning the next vacation. The choice fell on a tour of southern Europe because none of us had ever been to Croatia. However, after a dozen or so weeks, traveling a bit around Poland, it turned out that the 1.6TD unit does not cope well with long climbs, and that we love active recreation, especially in the mountains, it turned out to be a change of the busik's heart to a stronger one ... and again the long search for a suitable donor for Tripciak (this is how our T-3 was named). After a long moment of reflection and consultation with Qdaty and Robert, who already had the 1.9TDI swap behind them, we decided that it would be better to buy the whole car, take out what is needed and sell the rest than to complete all parts separately. After 3 months of searching forums and internet auctions, seeing a dozen cars that turned out to be scrap metal, Bartek, returning from university, accidentally noticed a golf 3 standing in the back of the estate with a note for sale. Unfortunately, its visual condition asked for vengeance to heaven, and the car looked as if it was begging for scrapping ... a thought immediately comes to mind - if the car is so run down and eaten by rust, it will be a mechanical disaster, in addition, this exaggerated price ... but what's the problem for me to call and arrange a visual inspection, in the end I have already had so much search, and here the car is under my nose. In a few days it was time to inspect it and, surprisingly, it turned out that the poor condition of the bodywork resulted from the fact that the car was in a warm, damp garage in the winter for half a year in a warm, damp garage where salt could easily penetrate the sheet metal because the owner often left on a business trip for several months and did not even have time to rinse the car. from salt ... but its mechanical condition turned out to be very good, the engine had no leaks, the turbo did not smoke, the car was dynamic after zvagowania did not vomit errors ... it was what we were looking for ... it was time for negotiations in which we had to make the owner aware that no one will give him that much, luckily for us, after the negotiations, we managed to cut a lot from the price and this is how Tripciak gained a dose of heart. Busik landed with Qdate and Robert, who did a good and solid job, so on the day after the swap, we could go on a journey, crushed by the leaves from work.
