Polish campers in Dusseldorf

Companies from all over the world presented themselves during the caravanning show in Dusseldorf. One of the few Polish representatives was the Balcamp company, which deals primarily with the construction of motorhomes based on vans.

During the largest caravanning fair in Europe, Balcamp showed two of its cars , prepared on the basis of a Mercedes Sprinter. These motorhomes were a showcase of the company and at the same time a proof that Polish production does not have to differ from that of Western Europe.

Both cars had leather upholstery (smooth or quilted) and furniture with wooden fronts . The motorhomes differed from each other in the interior layout. One of the vehicles has a large French double bed. In the second - single beds were used, which, however, can be joined together , thus creating a sleeping place across the entire width of the car.

Lots of valuable contacts

How does a company representative evaluate participation in the fair?

- The trade fair in Dusseldorf made it possible to present our products to a wider group of customers - says Lech Falkowski, commercial director of Balcamp , and admits that the stand of the Polish company aroused great interest in Germany. Most importantly, however, we managed to establish business contacts.

- Several orders have been received, which we will be implementing at the beginning of 2015. Thanks to the fair, we have acquired a number of new contacts, and at the moment talks with dealers from the Czech Republic, Germany, France and Norway are underway . We do not hide that we are counting on a successful conclusion of these talks and that in the future we will be able to boast of our company's representative offices in these countries - emphasizes the director. - Our campers enjoyed great interest not only among individual customers, but also representatives of various companies from the caravanning industry. We even heard flattering opinions from the employees of the Mercedes headquarters - adds Lech Falkowski.

A motorhome with a Mercedes warranty

It is with Mercedes that Balcamp has a special relationship. Although the company from the Pomeranian Voivodeship can build a camping vehicle on the basis of any delivery vehicle (both new and used), the owners of new Mercedes can benefit the most. The company issued a certificate to Balcamp, which means that the modifications made do not affect the manufacturer's warranty . We asked the director to explain how it works in practice.

- The European FTL approval allows us to sell new Mercedes Sprinter with manufacturer's rights. The procedure for ordering and collecting a vehicle is the same as in the case of, for example, buying a new Mercedes C-Class. The customer places an order, selects additional equipment, color, engine, etc. Additionally, in the case of our models, the customer has the option of making changes to the bodywork . When the car is produced, the customer receives documents from Mercedes and our company. The vehicle is registered with the complete set of these documents. The approval allows us to change the name of the vehicle from Mercedes-Benz to Mercedes-Balcamp and the Sprinter model to, for example, SP710, SP720. Next to the original nameplate, a new one is stamped with the data of our company - explains Lech Falkowski.

Maintaining the warranty, of course, requires periodic inspections , but they must be performed in two places - at the Mercedes service (in the field of the vehicle base) and in the Balcamp service (in the field of installation).
