The motorhome of the year 2014 - part II

Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly (MMM) and Which Motorhome? together they chose the best motorhomes of 2014. We continue the presentation of the awarded vehicles.

We would like to remind you that the title of "Motorhome of the Year 2014" was won by Rapido 640 . The jurors also awarded 8 additional prizes.

The best family camper

The Bailey Approach Autograph 765 was awarded the title of "Family Motorhome of the Year" by British jurors. This is another of the appreciated cars, which is a semi-integrated motorhome. What made this quite inconspicuous vehicle appreciated from the outside?

First of all, that even a family of 6 can travel on it. It is also important that the number of sleeping places coincides with the number of seats equipped with seat belts. Contrary to appearances, this is not a standard at all. Many manufacturers offer more berths than places to travel.

In addition, the rear of the car is not a large bed, but a lounge with couches and carpeting. Such a living room will allow both parents (on the sofas) and children (playing on the floor) to spend time comfortably.

The lowered chassis and positive crash test results are other important advantages of this family car.

Best Campervan with a Double Bed

Rapido 640 won the "Fixed Double Bed Motorhome of the Year" category for the second time. We have already written about this model in Part I of the article .

Best Single Bed Campervan

In this case, the best one was the Hymer Exsis-t 588 , which was described by the jurors as a slim and light car. Its width is only 212 cm, which makes it easy to turn around on narrow roads.

Another plus is the load capacity of up to 680 kg. Its use is facilitated by large garages placed under high-mounted single beds. Although the motorhome is not very large, there is room for a comfortable bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. There is also a lounge with L-shaped seating.

The best motorhome with a fold-out bed

An interesting category can be considered "Non-Fixed Bed Motorhome of the Year". Currently, we can find motorhomes relatively rarely, especially among semi-integrated and A-class vehicles, which do not have any fixed bed. The Bürstner Viseo i700 was announced the winner in this category.

Thanks to two fold-out spans, in the 220 cm wide car, it was possible to find as many as two showrooms - in the front and rear part of the vehicle. The jurors also appreciated the spacious kitchen with deep drawers and a large oven.

Luxury Camper of the Year

The jurors liked the fact that the Frankia Platinum Edition was based on the design of the Mercedes Sprinter. However, spaciousness determined the victory in the most luxurious category, which can be appreciated in virtually every part of this motorhome.

In addition, this model is distinguished by the power supply of all on-board devices ... with solar energy.
