Van TI - the basic Knaus motorhome

The Knaus brand has recently been trying to show itself as an innovative company. This is evidenced by the Caravisio concept caravan, which was a sensation at the Dusseldorf fair, or the modular Deseo caravan. But Knaus also offers almost classic models, such as the Van TI motorhome.

How does Knaus imagine its customers? The users of the Van TI model are to be couples of young people (or friends) who live in the city on a daily basis, but want to set off on an adventurous journey during the weekend or on vacation. They need a car that is not too big to be agile on the highway, winding city streets and not too expensive. Functionality is more important to them than appearance, although furniture and equipment should of course be of good quality.

A classic with a modern twist

The seating corner can be L-shaped, the interior - although it is not large - can be divided into zones, and the chrome handles in the two-color cabinets give the quite classic furniture an impression of modern elegance. You will also like modern thermostatic mixers in the kitchen and bathroom.

As befits a modern leisure car, there is plenty of light inside, thanks in large part to the numerous LED headlights, but also to the large sunroof at the front of the vehicle. There is no alcove above the driver's head that would restrict the access of light, but it means that it is not a vehicle for a family with children. Each version of Van IT has an additional, folding table top in the kitchen, which can facilitate the preparation of meals. The table is also extendable.

A useful feature is an externally accessible heated service compartment with clearly marked exits. Speaking of the exterior, it is worth mentioning the optional LED daytime running lights and fog lights available in the set with the cornering light system .

In pairs or in ... a triangle

Van TI is available in four variants and two lengths - 599 and 668 cm. The 550 D , 600 ME and 600 MEG models only have two sleeping places. In the first version it is one double bed, in the others - two single beds. There is also the 600 MG model that provides accommodation for three people . Each car can travel four people, so if it were not for accommodation, four people can go camping.

All Van TI variants have similar layouts with a kitchen, bathroom and separated sleeping area . The standard includes an external storage for two gas cylinders, a mini-garage (75x105 cm) , a 95-liter waste water tank and a fresh water tank with the same capacity, a water pump, a 3-burner gas stove, a 108-liter refrigerator, preparation for TV installation. In the basic model, the Truma Combi 4 system is responsible for heating, but in the other versions Truma Combi 6 is installed.

More for an extra charge

For an additional fee, you can, among others enlarge the fuel tank (from 90 to 120 liters), install air conditioning in the entire motorhome (the one in the driver's cabin is standard), and use Truma Combi E heating. The refrigerator can be changed to a larger one with a capacity of 190 liters, equipped with a separate freezer compartment. Some of the equipment is available in packages, e.g. The TV package includes a 19-inch TV with a screen sliding system.

Knaus Van TI is available in Germany from 48,390 euros . Is it worth choosing? It may be a reasonable choice, but only if we are traveling as a pair or three. The motorhome has several solutions that make it a practical vehicle for a couple or three friends. Maybe there are not too many extravagances here, but there is a solid "piece" of a motorhome from a proven brand.
