Camping instead of a hotel?

Camping instead of a hotel? – main image

Most tourists are accustomed to relaxing in comfortable conditions. It is not always a five-star resort with several swimming pools and full board included in the price, but a hotel is usually associated with a safe haven and 24-hour service. What if this year, instead of a hotel, we chose a campsite ?

Imagine a huge family park located right by the sea, and at the same time close to such pearls of Tuscany as Pisa or Florence. There are plenty of wide, lighted paths among the lush greenery, and several large swimming pools right next to them - some for people who like to swim, others, with lots of winding slides , are an attraction for both children and their parents. In the same park you will find a volleyball and football pitch, a mini-golf course, a rope park, a solarium, as well as shops, several restaurants and a pizzeria. Plus, of course, free Wi-Fi. As for the bathrooms, they have everything you might need, including a place to bathe and change babies.

The above description applies to the Park Albatros campsite (near the small town of San Vincenzo), but it is not an exception to the rule, but rather a typical Italian standard. In the most developed camping towns you will find SPA centers and even kindergartens and nurseries for children. In fact, there are so many attractions that you could not leave the campsite for the entire vacation. On the other hand, the proximity of the sea or historic towns is so tempting that it is easy to plan an interesting trip. Moreover, some campsites – just like hotels in resorts – offer organized trips .

What about accommodation?

Instead of a camper, you can come by car (or fly by plane) and choose a comfortable Dutch house for the night. Such a house may contain even several bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and often also a veranda. Sometimes glamping tents are also available (the name comes from the word "glamour") - they can be air-conditioned and equipped with all amenities. Prices? Well, it happens that they are similar to those in hotels, but in return you can afford much more freedom, closeness to nature and access to lots of attractions on site.

Similar centers are increasingly being established in other countries with developed tourism, including: in Croatia, and the first swallows in the form of modern camping centers also appear in Poland (e.g. Sopot 34 or Molo w Osiek ).

Camping is a completely different form of accommodation than a hotel. The hotel is a rather stiff and anonymous place, but the campsite is relaxed and you can relax as if you were at home in the garden. When it comes to standard, many campsites set the bar very high. Some of them, instead of renovating their caravans , replace them every few years with new luxurious houses, each time better equipped. There are some that could be compared to apartments in expensive hotels.

Camping wins on every level

There are many reasons to try a stay in a modern camping resort, especially in Italy or Croatia, where scenic values usually go hand in hand with excellent equipment. For a person who has previously only stayed in hotels, this may turn out to be an interesting change.

Campsites are located far from cities, primarily in naturally attractive places - e.g. close to the sea beach or with a view of the mountains. Nature is at your fingertips here. Just step outside the campsite's fence and you'll find yourself in the forest or on the shore of the lake. And even without leaving, you can run barefoot on the grass and eat meals outdoors.

Camping is conducive to spending time in a family atmosphere. At the campsite, we are together all the time and we do many things together, from going to the swimming pool , through shopping together, to going out for dinner at one of the many restaurants located at the campsite. At the campsite, children spend a lot of time on incredibly extensive playgrounds (both water ones and, for example, trampolines), or take part in various activities organized by a professional team of animators , where they can play with other children from different countries and no one knows language is not a problem for them.

If security concerns are stopping you from choosing a campsite, know that outsiders are not allowed on its premises. To enter the campsite, you must be a customer (e.g. show your ID). The camping area is fenced and guarded by authorized persons, and car traffic is allowed only in designated areas.

Check the campsite and opinions about it

Perhaps you have been convinced that it is worth learning more about the possibility of spending at least one holiday in your life at an attractively located and well-equipped campsite. But if so, where should you start?

To start with, you can, for example, browse the offers in the constantly updated database of campsites from all over Europe. It is worth emphasizing that our website is for information purposes only and does not mediate reservations. However, it provides information about attractions available in a given center and publishes videos and photos. Opinions of Internet users who have visited a given place are also published under the description of each campsite. Thanks to this, you can check whether the campsite , which looks very inviting in the photos, was liked by people who chose this place for their vacation. This will reduce the risk of making an incorrect choice.

We have also recently launched a new search engine for recommended campsites checked by CampRest. There you will find many attractive offers for accommodation in holiday homes, caravans and tents.

People interested in camping can also receive a free, printed catalog with descriptions and photos of the camping sites presented on the website. We give them away for free during the largest tourism and caravanning fairs in Poland, where we have our stands.
