Between Livorno and Piombino, along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, stretches the Riviera degli Etruschi, or Etruscan Riviera. The region is famous for its sandy beaches, numerous archaeological remains, historic towns and picturesque pine trees in the dunes. There are also many tourist resorts on the Etruscan Coast. One of them is San Vincenzo, considered the heart of Tuscany.

The Etruscan Riviera impresses with its unique landscape , which is mainly due to the volcanic rocks that descend straight into the sea and protrude from the water picturesquely, creating caves, caverns and rocks. In addition, the coastal area is rich in archaeological excavations that have been collected in the museums in Populonia and San Silvestro.

Rest in San Vincenzo

In the beautiful and seaside town of San Vincenzo, located on the Etruscan Riviera, we will find Camping Park Albatros , appreciated by tourists. The center is distinguished by an attractive location and a wealth of entertainment for children and adults. There are as many as five swimming pools on the campsite - two large in the style of a tropical lagoon and one Olympic, there are also slides and a paddling pool for kids. Additionally, for children there is a large and safe playground, a mini golf course, a games room and a trampoline.

The resort also offers bike hire and a family ride on San Vincenzo or the Etruscan Coast. In the summer season, the resort has a group of animators that organize sports activities, games and activities for guests of all ages. Talent Show, disco for teenagers, cabaret, rope park - these are just some of the many attractions of the campsite. There is a large, multi-purpose sports field where you can play volleyball and football. There is a sea and a sandy beach nearby and the campsite organizes trips to Rome, Florence and Elba.

Camping Park Albatros is a well-equipped resort. There is a small garden next to each holiday home where you can make a barbecue. If we are already at the houses, it is worth emphasizing that each of them has a bedroom, a kitchenette with a living room, a bathroom and a covered, spacious patio. There are also plots with sanitary and electricity connections in the area of the center.

Tuscany's seaside cuisine

The basis of the Tuscan diet is pane toscano , which is baked without adding salt and smells of sourdough and wood smoke. It is also used to thicken the ribollita soup and in the cacciucco fish soup, which are the specialty of the coastal regions of Tuscany. The local cuisine mostly serves seafood and fresh fish with the addition of pasta and pappardelle. Among the regional products we can find truffles, wines, cheeses (e.g. ricotta) and oil pressed from fruits that are not yet ripe.

There are three restaurants at Camp Park Albatros. In each of them you can enjoy a delicious dinner prepared from local products. Additionally, by the pools there are bars serving snacks, ice cream and cold drinks. It is therefore worth using a holiday at the campground to explore the Tuscan flavors.

A trip around the Etruscan Riviera

The most characteristic towns of the Etruscan Coast, apart from San Vincenzo, are Livorno and Piombino. While relaxing at Camping Park Albatros, it is worth visiting these places.

Livorno is a city with a long history. It was founded in 1017, but it was not until the 16th century that it became an important port and center of culture. The town is considered a little Venice of the West . There we find the beautiful district of La Venezia with canals, bridges and squares. Places worth visiting include the Teatro San Marco, the huge Piazza della Repubblica and the Church of Chiesa Dei Domenicani. The Quattro Mori, a monument to the four Moors , is attractive - it is a famous 17th-century statue made of bronze and marble.

Piombino is surrounded on three sides by the sea. There it connects the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea. From the town you can take a ferry to the nearby island of Elba. The main showcase of Piombino is the Piazza Bovio square , divided into a sitting and viewing area and located on a slight hill. The most valuable monument in the city is the castle from the 12th century, rebuilt under the supervision of Leonardo da Vinci. Currently, there is a museum in this place.

Italy, Croatia, Spain ... are the countries I would like to come back to every summer. I like to discover new places, whether it is a bustling capital city or a quiet town on a mountain slope.

Green Elba
Today it is hard to imagine that exile to a beautiful island covered with Mediterranean vegetation can be a punishment. For Napoleon, however, it was quite painful, given that he was an ambitious person and, if he could, he would control several places at once, instead of being stuck on a piece of land surrounded by water. Meanwhile, it is enough to get to know this piece of land to envy the French emperor more than sympathize. Elba is the largest of the Tuscan Islands archipelago and the third largest island in Italy. It is situated on the border between the Mediterranean and the Ligurian Sea, and is approx. 10 km away from the coast. The long (almost 147 km) coastline attracts thousands of people every year for whom vacation in Italy is the time of sunbathing. There are beautiful beaches with golden sand and rocky, unfriendly to bare feet. The first group includes, among others Marina di Campo , Fetovaia or Cavoli, and to the second - Capo Bianco and Le Ghiaie. There are many steep cliffs on Elba, natural obstacles preventing you from reaching the wildest places by non-sea routes. The island teases the tourist this way, both tempting and demanding. The persistent ones are rewarded with views of picturesque coves, colorfully colored cliffs and lush greenery. Elba is also a place with the atmosphere of a fishing village. It is loved by divers, both beginners, who can explore, for example, the Pomonte wreck, lying on the bottom at a depth of 10 meters, as well as professionals. They prefer places like Capo Stella , where smooth-skinned moray eels swim between the red coral. On land, tourists spend their time equally interesting - on excursions, mountain climbing and a number of other activities (including a cable car trip to the top of Monte Capanne).
