Florence - the pearl of Tuscany and the city of museums
Florence is considered the most beautiful city in Italy. They are often called the pearl of Tuscany. Its picturesque location on the Arno River , at the foot of the Apennines, gives the city an extraordinary charm. However, the most captivating atmosphere is inherently associated with wonderful paintings, sculptures and extraordinary architecture.
The historic part of Florence is characterized by compact buildings , so it is best to explore it on foot. Therefore, we begin our walk with the most important monument of the city, i.e. the monumental Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore designed by Arnolf di Cambio. It is not only a symbol of Florence, but also the fourth largest church in Europe. It is distinguished by a facade made of green, white and pink marble and a cupola designed by Brunelleschi, additionally topped with a marble lantern and Campanile bell tower, the plans of which were prepared by master Giotto himself, the precursor of the Italian Renaissance.
The next point of our trip is the oldest building in Florence - the Baptistery, with its famous bronze doors decorated with beautiful mosaics. Then it's worth going to the Uffizi Gallery . It is one of the most important museums in the world. We must immediately accept the fact that in one day we will not be able to see exactly 45 halls with an exhibition and enjoy the beauty of over 2,000 paintings by leading Italian and European painters, including Titian, Michelangelo, Caravaggio and Botticelli. It is worth returning there several times.
To cool down a bit after the attractions of the Uffizi, it's best to go to Palazzo Vecchio (another symbol of Florence). There you will find a statue of David (the work of Michelangelo) and the Vecchio Palace - a characteristic sand-colored structure, dating from the 13th century.
While walking around Florence, you cannot deny yourself walking on the wonderful bridges there. The oldest and at the same time the most beautiful of them is the Ponte Vecchio from the 13th century. Currently, it is a cluster of numerous shops and workshops, mainly goldsmiths.
When we gain strength, we go to the Pitti Palace, then to the Medici Palace , where we will see a huge collection of works of art (Palatine Gallery), to the Gallery of Contemporary Art , and for dessert, we leave the unusual Museum of Silver .

However, we will return to Camping Village Internazionale Firenze. It is a place full of attractions , where not only children, but also adults will have a good time. There is a wonderful swimming pool with a paddling pool for children aged 1-3, a playground, billiards, a cafe, a TV room and a scooter rental.
