Sardinia - escape towards relaxation

The hot Italian summer encourages you to spend a carefree holiday in the homeland of Dante, Leonardo da Vinci and... the best cuisine in the world. However, like many other friends, I started this year's holiday plans in sunny Italy by asking myself a serious question: do I really want to suffocate in queues to the Colosseum again, watch tourists posing in always the same pose under the tower of Pisa or, what's even worse, stuck in Naples traffic jams? The answer was: in life! That's why, at the beginning of July, I set out for Sardinia, surrounded by turquoise waters, one of the most fascinating islands in Southern Italy . Here, surrounded by sandy beaches "littered" with huge granite rocks, I was to spend a dream and long-deserved holiday - in the quiet and mesmerizing landscape of the province of Gallura in the north of Sardinia.

Gallura – the idyllic side of Sardinia

Holidays in Sardinia, especially in its northern part, are full of seaside resorts and ubiquitous celebrity yachts, which, unfortunately, somewhat detract from the unspoilt charm of the panoramas. That's why some people go to Gallura in search of a moment of respite. This still relatively unknown region of the island is a mirror image of its crowded neighbor. The beaches here are equally beautiful, the nature is less disturbed by human activity, and the residents and tourists are definitely more relaxed!

The coast itself is a paradise, still hidden. In small bays, separated by narrow rocky spits, you can dive, "snorkel" or discover the richness of the marine world from the deck of a boat. Exploring hidden beaches is one of the attractions that will captivate everyone. One of the places where sunbathing is really addictive is the port of Santa Teresa di Gallura , located right on the seashore. From this small town you can set off on a beachgoer's journey through the soft dunes of Rena Maiore to La Marmorata, beloved by surfing and diving enthusiasts. After returning from the beach, it is worth returning to Santa Teresa and sitting in one of the seaside bars to enjoy the sunset and a sip of the excellent local wine - Vermentino di Sardegna .

The best accommodation

When I set off on my dream Italian holiday, I didn't know how to find the best campsites in Sardinia . A friend of mine, an expert in caravanning trips around Europe, came to my help. She recommended staying at a campsite - and not just any campsite, but one located right by the sea - Village Baia Blu La Tortuga . Although I was a bit skeptical about this idea as a "hotel animal", I loved this place immediately! Camping Village Baia Blu La Tortuga was located in a magical forest smelling of resin, and after breakfast in one of the numerous restaurants on site, you only had to walk 100 meters to reach the sandy beach. Safety was also at the highest level - returning from the sea in the evening was not scary at all thanks to the illuminated alleys and sidewalks. As an absolute maniac of water madness, I felt like in heaven here - right after arriving, I ran to visit the windsurfing school and mountain bike and kayak rental. Well, I don't go on holiday to relax! After thousands of calories burned, I quickly went to the always nearby fast food restaurant, or, if I wanted to fill my stomach more, to a restaurant. Every morning, together with my neighbors, I ran to buy fresh, warm bread from the local store. A real paradise! Of course, in the evenings I didn't lock myself in my comfortable mobile home - after sunset, a team of animators took over the camping and made sure that everyone returned to their bed happy and well-danced. Some time has passed since this vacation - but I have not forgotten a single moment spent there. Camping Village Baia Blu La Tortuga stole my heart and I am already looking forward to my next vacation to return there! The campsite belongs to a network of very nice Baia Holiday campsites, so next time I will probably choose another place belonging to them.
