Spring is the best time to awaken your traveler's spirit and go on a trip to Italy. This wonderful country, full of monuments of many civilizations, has something to offer everyone. Regardless of the season, we can enjoy filling spaghetti , crispy pizza or warm capuccino . Amateurs of close encounters with art know well that magical Italy is a real paradise for them - every holiday in Umbria, Sicily or Puglia allows you to touch the magnificent Gothic architecture, admire the sculptures of the most famous Renaissance artists or get lost in the baroque decorations of churches. The only problem is how to see all these wonders during the three days of our May vacation? There is only one way out: choose a holiday in Tuscany - a place that is simply "overloaded" with beauty.

Florence, Siena and Pisa - 3 Tuscan sisters

If we only have a few days to explore Tuscany , it's worth making a good plan and not overdoing the number of places you want to visit. Experienced travelers know that sometimes it is good to visit a few places, but spend enough time in them to be able to actually soak up their unique atmosphere. Therefore, during a short vacation in this part of Italy, we recommend not to focus on the triangle of "Three Tuscan Sisters", ie Florence , Siena and Pisa . In our opinion, the trip should start with a visit to Florence .

It is the capital of the region, known all over the world for its devotion to art and artists. For hundreds of years, the boldest designs and structures have been created here. Today, it is worth seeing here, among others, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore , which intimidates tourists with its power, and the Baptistery , to which the famous gilded "Doors of Paradise" lead. From here, an almost straight road leads to picturesque Siena , which has preserved the historic medieval layout of the city to this day. You can stroll here, admiring the surroundings of Plac del Campo - the heart of the city, and visiting the interior of the brick palace - Palazzo Publico . The next day, it is worth going slowly towards Pisa - passing through the charming Tuscan countryside. On the way, we will visit San Gimignano - "medieval Manhattan". The city owes this unusual nickname to its numerous slender towers, hundreds of years old and actually ... looking like New York skyscrapers! We will end our journey in Pisa - a city that has been made world-famous by its "Leaning Tower" , which attracts tens of thousands of tourists every year. However, Pisa is not only a tilted tower, but also wonderful monuments gathered around the so-called Miracle Square : the marble Cathedral or the beautiful Baptistery.

Campsites in Tuscany

A good, comfortable accommodation in Tuscany , away from the hustle and bustle, is a difficult matter. In the flood of offers, it is difficult to choose the one that best meets our expectations. If we travel with a larger group of friends or in the company of family, we value independence and closeness to nature, camping in Tuscany will be an excellent solution. Camping Ville degli Ulivi is one of the best proposals in this region, especially recommended by both active people and families. At the campsite, you can keep fit almost 24 hours a day - windsurfing, surfing and even diving equipment rental, the possibility of relaxing in the pool - these are some of the advantages that will make active rest in Tuscany the best here. Families with children will appreciate the rich animation offer for children and the possibility of leaving the youngest children in a professionally run kindergarten.

Where the dice were thrown
Alea iacta est ("The dice were cast") - history tells us that Julius Caesar uttered these words over 2,000 years ago, crossing the Rubicon River. The event started a bloody civil war that torn the Roman republic over the years. Rubicon formed the natural border of Italy with Pre-Alpine Gaul. The passing of Caesar and his army to the other side was tantamount to a declaration of war. It didn't take long for the waters of the river to run down with blood. Centuries have passed since the events that changed the history of the country known today as Italy . Nowadays, Rubicon no longer creates a border, the crossing of which is associated with making decisions of great importance. Today it is simply a small river flowing from the Northern Apennines to the Adriatic Sea, winding through northern Italy and ending its way at Gatteo A Mare. While exploring the estuary on foot, we come across a bronze bust of Julius Caesar, reminding us of the famous words spoken by the river. Fortunately, today we can cross the Rubicon without getting our feet wet by crossing the wooden suspension bridge. On the other side is the charming seaside resort of Savignano Mare - perfect for a family holiday . Not only people who want to relax by the warm sea come here, but also tourists who want to get to know as many attractions as possible in this part of the Italian coast in their vacation plans. And it must be admitted that it is a great base for visiting nearby resorts. The town is just 5 km away from Cesenatico, with its stunning port, which was said to be designed by the master himself, Leonardo da Vinci, and the charming old town that surrounds it. From Rimini, which is well-deserved as one of the most famous holiday resorts not only on the Adriatic Riviera, but on the whole of Italy - 12 km. Riccione, known as the Green Pearl of the Adriatic, is 25 km away. Further on, there are centers of great historical and cultural importance - including Ravenna, Florence and Venice.
