The capital of the region is located on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. You will find plenty of monuments from the early Middle Ages. But apart from old churches and defensive moats, there is also plenty of greenery that is pleasing to the eyes. You can easily find a campsite in Utrecht or on its outskirts. Some facilities are quite intimate, but there are also larger ones with swimming pools and other amenities for guests.

You can choose from Wilhelmina Park, Pandhof Sinte Marie, the old monastery garden Pandhof van de Domo and the gardens of the University of Utrecht.
