Road tolls in Europe for campers with a permissible total weight (9DMC) above 3.5 t are the subject of many discussions. There are many myths around this topic, which I am trying to debunk. I will prove to you that sometimes you can travel cheaper with campers above 3.5 t than with a camper with a DMC below 3.5 t.
As I drive a camper with a GVW of over 3.5 t , I will try to describe below what road tolls apply in several European countries that are the most popular holiday destinations for Poles. I have travelled around these countries myself or have verified information that this is the case. I will try to update the article on an ongoing basis, so if you have any comments or verified and confirmed information that something has changed somewhere, or you have information about a country that I have not described here, please write me an email .
I will not provide specific rates per km driven, because the rate in a given country is influenced by many factors and the prices themselves change frequently. The main factors influencing the price are the number of axles, emission class, height... so you will find appropriate links to pages where you should find the most up-to-date information.
