                    Tourism comes first

Zadar County covers northern Dalmatia and south-eastern Lika, and includes many smaller and larger islands. The largest cities are Zadar, Biograd, Nin and Pag on the island of the same name. The main branch of the region's economy is tourism – this is due to its attractive location, mild climate, crystal clear sea, numerous bays and beaches stretching along the coast and islands with a total length of 1,300 kilometers (!). Tourist attractions also include areas of exceptional natural beauty: Velebit, Telaščica and Paklenica, the neighboring national parks of Krka and Kornati in the south, and the Plitvice Lakes National Park in the north.
