We do not know what were the oldest Kraków mounds so far. It is believed that these were places of worship or graves of chiefs, but there is no certainty about this. It is known, however, that the two oldest, built by human hands, Krakow hills are well over a thousand years old. To this day, Krakow mounds remain an unexplained mystery of the past, and this is probably why they were given into the possession of the legendary Krakow heroes born in the imagination. One of such heroes is the legendary prince - the founder of the city, whose burial place is to be the Krakus Mound, located on the right bank of the Vistula, on the Krzemionek hill. This mound is small - it is 16 meters high, and the diameter of its base is just over 50 meters. Research indicates that it was probably erected in the 7th century. Evidence of this can be found inside the building, during archaeological research in the 1930s, forged in bronze - a characteristic Avarian belt clasp of those times.

According to the legend, during the sea bath, Venus's neck fell off a necklace of pearls that scattered over the waters of the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas. In this way, they created one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the region. One of the pearls of the necklace of the goddess of love is Elba, today known as the island of Venus. You can get to the top of the hill where Eze is located after paying a fee. While climbing, many people will remember the fear of heights, but it is worth suffering for a while - after reaching the place, our eyes will see wonderful views. On sunny days, you can see Corsica and Saint-Tropez, and in the distance you can see the bridge that leads to Eze.

If you are planning a Balkan trip, you cannot miss Albania, especially three extremely interesting and beautiful places, i.e. the town of Qeparo, the canyon of the Lengarica river and the ruins of the ancient city of Butrint. Whoever visited Qeparo once, will miss it. You can find this charming town by traveling along the Albanian coast, not far from Himarë . Currently, we will not meet crowds of tourists there, but it is worth hurrying, because the situation changes every year. The original name of the town, according to the nineteenth-century topographer William Martin Leake, is Kiepero or Kiparos, derived from the Greek word kipos , meaning garden. Probably the etymology of the name is associated with the numerous olive groves that we can still admire in Qeparo today. The village is divided into two parts - upper (old) and lower (new). The former settlement located on the western slope of Mount Gjivlash is a must see. Partly abandoned, with impressive folk architecture and a wonderful view of the Ionian Sea - a sure point on the tourist map. In the new part of the village you can visit, among others church of St. Dimitrius from the 18th century. Besides, the center of Qeparo is almost an oasis of peace; several local bars and restaurants, friendly locals and beautiful beaches.

Oviedo is a nice Spanish university city, modern despite its remote location, actually in the provinces. They are distinguished by the number of sculptures that can be seen in it - a total of 107. Compared to other Spanish resorts, Oviedo is quiet and small. The more that in the old part of the city, casco viejo, there is no car traffic. Half of the pedestrianized streets run in this area and this is where life is most intense. If we visit Oviedo on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday, sooner or later our legs will lead us to Plaza del Fontán . Under this name, there is a square that serves as a marketplace these days. It was created on the site of a small, drained lake. It is surrounded by arcades, and apart from stalls, it also consists of pavilions where we can buy traditional black faience and local specialties. These include sidra apple pie and cabrales - blue-veined cheese with a very distinctive flavor and aroma.

Europe's Niagara Falls spills over in several arms, rolling waters amid rocks and greenery. The Swiss canton of Schaffhausen, which advertises itself as the heart of Europe, boasts the largest waterfall in the continent. The Rheinfall waterfall is beautiful. Its waters foam like milk, arousing admiration among people by the force of its inheritance. However, not among eels, which during the spawning period are able to climb the stones to the very top, driven by instinct. They are not impressed by the numbers: 23 meters high and 150 meters wide. Total, because the Rheinfall is actually a few waterfalls that together form a majestic miracle of nature. Almost 700,000 liters of water per second pass through it. Indeed, you have to be an eel to ignore these statistics.
