Polish MPs are preparing a bill that will force drivers to use appropriate tires in winter. For now, it is a voluntary matter. But when going abroad, we should check what regulations apply in a given country. If we only drive on Polish roads, for now the decision rests with us - drivers. Current regulations require that a tire - whether summer, winter or all-season - must have a tread of at least 1.6 mm. However, in winter conditions this is definitely not enough. Specialists recommend using tires with a minimum tread in winter. 3.5mm.

When and in which country do you need to change your tires?

When it's warm, just get in and drive. But traveling in winter is much more demanding. First, the car needs to be properly prepared, and if we do not have a garage, we will have a daily ritual of scraping windows. And also the traffic jams when it is impossible to drive because of snow ... Let us not follow the road builders - let us not be surprised by the winter! Before frost and snow attack, let's prepare properly. It is best, of course, to perform a winter inspection in the service center, but the absolute minimum is to change the tires to winter ones, refilling the washer reservoir with liquid resistant to bitter frost , and checking the level of other fluids. It is also worth checking the condition of the wiper blades and replacing them if necessary.

In both cases, the car is powered by a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The need to pay road tolls is an obligation for drivers in many European countries. We may soon also have to pay for driving on roads in Germany. In many European countries, driving on selected roads requires purchasing a vignette and sticking it to the inside of the windshield. Some use electronic vignettes or - as in Poland - the fee is paid at motorway toll gates. In Austria, tourists traveling by car (with or without a trailer) most often choose a 10-day vignette, which costs EUR 8.70. If you intend to stay in Austria longer, it may be worth purchasing a 2-month vignette for EUR 25.00. The annual vignette costs EUR 84.40. Vignettes are mandatory on motorways and expressways. Additional fees are charged for driving through selected tunnels and high-mountain roads.

German manufacturers have got us used to the fact that one model can even come in a dozen or so variants. But in the case of the largest LMC, we have only 3 versions to choose from - in addition, they differ only in details.
