Both campers and caravans have their ardent supporters. But when making a choice, it is best to take into account more than just personal preferences. A camper is a house on wheels. There should be everything you need inside. You can go anywhere in the world with it, as long as... the camper fits there. Unlike the living space in a camper, you can disconnect the trailer from the car, leave it at the campsite, and then explore the area by car, forgetting about the heavy ballast. However, if you intend to move often, frequent disconnection and connection of the trailer, as well as driving with a trailer, e.g. on narrow streets of tourist towns, may be a problem. So what to choose?.

A trailer or a motorhome?

It cannot be denied that driving a caravan requires better skills and greater concentration than driving only a car. It is easiest to find out when driving on slippery surfaces. In extreme situations, it is easy to lose control of the trailer. However, to minimize this risk, it is worth spending some time and energy on its proper preparation. The trailer will be stable if you prepare it properly. Correct tire pressure is absolutely essential - if it is in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, the whole set will be more stable on the road.

Driving with a trailer in winter

It is good if the decision to buy a camping car is not made hastily. Buying a camper shouldn't be the first thing you start your caravanning adventure with. You should already know in advance whether this method of traveling is suitable for you. So you can try to go camping with friends or, better yet, rent a camping vehicle yourself to verify your ideas about this type of holiday. Only when you learn not only the advantages, but also the difficulties related to e.g. limited parking options and even access to selected places, or related to vehicle maintenance (e.g. getting rid of waste), will you find out whether caravanig is really attractive to you proposal.

Before you buy a motorhome

The Brevio T600 model was based on the Fiat Ducato. Certainly, it cannot be considered a luxury model, but it probably has everything you would expect from a motorhome, which costs less than 45,000 at the basic price. euro. The car is available with three different engines. The cheapest will be a motorhome with a 2.3 Mjet engine with 96 HP. There is also an engine with the same displacement, but with a power of 109 HP. The most expensive version has a 3-liter engine with 130 HP. What sets the Brevio apart, however, are not the engines. The construction of the camping part will be more interesting in this case. The completely flat walls are made of three-layer insulation boards, which should ensure both good ventilation in summer and high temperature in winter. Of course, the appropriate devices will help, although the cabin air conditioning (manual) is available only at an additional cost. The Truma 4 Combi heating is available as standard.

Burstner Brevio - an idea for the family

The law provides for two solutions. The first allows you to drive a set in which a trailer weighing up to 750 kg was attached to a passenger car of any weight (i.e. up to 3.5 tons). However, this does not mean that you cannot drive a heavier trailer. However, if you decide on the latter solution, then the entire set must weigh no more than 3.5 tons, and the weight of the trailer must not exceed the weight of the car that pulls it. Take into account not only the regulations, but also the fact that the car must have sufficient power to have the power to pull the trailer not only on flat terrain, but also uphill. So if you have a car with a power of 50-60 HP or less, try to get a trailer that is as light as possible.

How to drive a car with a trailer?

Currently, trailers from the top Premium series are offered in 12 different configurations. The basic differences between them concern the total length, which ranges from 668 cm to 950 cm. This parameter is also followed by the permissible total weight. In the shortest model, it is 1500 kg, and in the longest model, it is 2300 kg. The differences also lie in the interior layout and equipment. The largest models have five sleeping places, while the smallest one can sleep only three people. The size of the trailer also has a huge impact on the price. We can have the cheapest model for approx. 19 thousand. euro, and the most expensive require a payment of 27 thousand. euro. The average prices of the other models oscillate around 22 thousand. euro.

Hobby Premium

The Burstner Grand Panorama model is probably the biggest hit of the camping fair at the end of the year. Although this is a model for 2013, it is already available for purchase. However, it is hard to say that the price of the vehicle based on Fiat Ducato elements is a bargain. The i920 G model, equipped with a 3-liter 177hp engine, costs nearly 124,000 in Germany. euro. This is the price you might as well buy an apartment in a big city. The comparison with the apartment is not accidental. From the outside, the Grand Panorama does not resemble the Fiat Ducato at all. Rather, it evokes associations with a futuristic bus. But its real advantages can only be seen inside. The interior design and the quality of the materials used simply delight. It cannot be said here that the Grand Panorama is "like an apartment". It is an apartment in the full sense of the word - comfortable, spacious and luxurious.

Grand Panorama motorhome

Currently, most of the new motorhomes are based on the Fiat Ducato design. The German Hymer is an exception here as it benefits from the expertise of Mercedes-Benz. The basis for the Starlight series is a Mercedes Sprinter 316 CDI equipped with a 2.2 liter engine. It allows you to reach the power of 163 HP. You can also order a 190 HP version with an automatic transmission. Each version of the Stralight can be driven with a category B driving license. Outside, the attention is drawn to the triple windscreen wipers and xenon headlights. You may also like the streamlined shapes of the front part of the body, completely different than in the Sprinter. However, as it happens in the case of motorhomes, in order to know its main advantages, you have to look inside.

Probably everyone who starts their adventure with caravanning wonders how to supply water and what to do with the sewage that quickly fills the waste container. Unfortunately, it is not very easy, especially in Poland. Waste, especially feces, should not be thrown anywhere. They should be disposed of in appropriate places intended for this purpose. These are neither drainage ditches nor ordinary sewage manholes, although unfortunately, due to the lack of other options, this is where camper users often dispose of their sewage.

What to do with impurities?

A four-person motorhome based on Fiat Ducato is an example of Polish construction that can meet the expectations of even a demanding family. The car was richly equipped and precisely designed. It can also boast of high-quality workmanship. The constructors from the Polish company Elcamp set themselves the goal of building a motorhome that, with relatively small external dimensions, could offer a comfortable space inside the vehicle. The basis of the structure is the Fiat Ducato L4H3, i.e. in Fiat terminology, the vehicle with the widest wheelbase (L4) and the greatest height (H3). Models with two engines are available for sale - the more powerful Ducato has a 3-liter diesel engine with 180 HP. The weaker one has a 2.3 engine with 130 HP. What distinguishes the Neo-Traveler Voyager, however, is its equipment.

Poles can also build campers

If you are interested in traveling, but you do not feel like exploring the world by looking out the window of your hotel room or chasing a pilot carrying out a tight tour program, think about a camper van. Importantly, you don't have to own it to start the adventure of your life. A motorhome, or a camping car, can make you feel almost no limitations during your vacation. No more dependence on vacancies in a hotel or on the "whim" of a travel agency. You can go wherever you want and spend as much time as you like.

You can rent a motorhome

The condition of Polish roads leaves much to be desired, and the cars traveling on them are exposed to extreme exploitation. The group of vehicles particularly vulnerable to damage includes largely large vans, as well as recreational vehicles such as motorhomes. Usually they are loaded to the permissible limits, and this affects the extremely frequent and rapid degradation of the suspension or its components. Broken springs, broken rod ends, damaged bearings are just an example of what you can deal with when using the vehicle in extreme conditions. The worst thing about it is that the damage does not appear suddenly, but gradually, and it is difficult to detect it in the initial stages of damage, so any repairs only take place when the vehicle has a serious breakdown that effectively immobilizes it.
