Today, a section of approx. 550 km from Carta to Mamaia. Good road E68, then a little worse E81, but once it became a freeway it was OK, just boring. Bucharest bypass to drive, but not likely during rush hour. Fortunately, we traveled around 1pm our time. Bucharest-Constanta Highway, 11 lei additionally. Behind the highway, we turned left and drove about 20 km on a gravel road, but thanks to this we avoided Constanta. Camping S is big and nice, only a few sanitary requirements. Cost: 115 lei / day / set.

Romania 2011 - part 2 - at the seaside

It's time to go on a trip to Romania . Of the 5-6 crews that declared themselves, I was unfortunately left alone with my friend in a passenger car ... Well, life plays various tricks. Two crews, i.e. 8 people, take part in the expedition. My vacation was also in doubt, but it worked. The media patronage over the expedition was taken by "Polski Caravaning". . Day 1 The trailer is ready for the road, the food is packed (that's why the trailer is still connected to 230V), the crew and personal belongings. We can meet snow in the mountains and heat at the seaside. Departure today 22.00.

Romania 2011 - part 1 - in the mountains

Although it is still cold outside and the sun is only shyly sticking out the nose from behind the clouds, thirsty for camper experiences and encouraged by nice weather, we went for our first weekend with a camper this season. Of course, as usual on the day of departure, the so far beautiful weather had turned bad, but what could be done - we took warmer clothes, stocked ourselves up with water for tea and left Kalisz right after work. Right behind Odolanów, in the small town of Sośnie, there is a unique Moja Wola manor house. Currently falling into disrepair, it is an extraordinary architectural structure whose façade is covered with ... bark. It looks worse and worse every year, so it's worth seeing it before it completely falls apart. We parked at the renovated Stanica Harcerska and then, through a beautifully wooded park, we reached the manor house. The facility is closed (which is a pity, because the inside is also nice), but it is accessible to visitors from the outside.

Stawy Milickie - weekend in Wielkopolska

MRZEŻYNO – DŹWIRZYNO – KOŁOBRZEG – UTRONIE MORSKIE – GĄSKI – SARBINOWO – MIELNO. ROUTE 100 km. Mrzeżyno, Dźwirzyno - similar names and surroundings - beach as far as the eye can see. In Mrzeżyno there is a monument with a commemorative plaque dedicated to the wedding of Poland with the Baltic Sea on March 17, 1945. And as we drove further, we climbed some dunes :)  But man does not live by beaches alone - sometimes you will come across a city on the route - today Kołobrzeg is the highlight. We left the car at the port and wandered along the coast. We also met a yellow camper on a sheet metal with Polish registration plates (unmarked). We won't sail to Bornholm - we wanted to go out to sea, but I guess there are no other people willing to go.  The port, the lighthouse, the promenade, the pier - there are already crowds here.  Similarly, towards the east, behind the pier, where a traffic path stretches along the sea. Kamienny Szaniec - now a pub - we certainly won't be among the walruses, so we'll get out of here.  There are hotels behind the campsite - we checked the price list - a double room on New Year's Eve is only PLN 3,000 :D  After Ustronie Morskie we got on the road to Wenietowo. Even though, looking around, we entered a military area and the road was still relatively smooth. However, just before the river, we stood in front of the driveway and... we turned back even though there were still signs to a campsite (real?). We wanted to take a shortcut to Gąski (it was on the paper map), but for the first time we trusted the GPS, which stubbornly said "turn around" - so we went back.  We got to Gąski via a not very interesting road - (through Kładno) narrow and full of holes, not recommended. There is a lantern here and omnipresent silence.  Sarbinowo is definitely bigger and more "civilized", especially when it comes to roads :)  Mielno is quiet at this time of year. We walk around the promenade, sorry, the promenade :), the beach, and then to Lake Jamno.  KOSZALIN - SŁAWNO-SŁUPSK In Koszalin we park in a free parking lot (54.192069, 16.178188) very close to the center - near the brewery and the historic fire brigade building. First we go to the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Koszalin's town hall is completely covered - renovation is in full swing.

IDEA FOR A WEEKEND - at the seaside part 2

PUSTKOWO - DZIWNÓWEK - DZIWNÓW - INTERWODZIE - MIĘDZYZDROJE - LUBIN - WAPNICA - WOLIN ROUTE 140km. Finding a place to stay by the sea in winter… quite an art. It worked in Pustków. It surprised us a lot when we turned there from the main road - and here a fabulously lit town. Departure, unfortunately, not a camper, which after a few trips with luggage to the room, we regret a bit, but it's cold brrr, so you have to sacrifice yourself :) The weather, unfortunately, is not good since the morning it is pouring, so we bloom in the room. In the morning it only rains so we set off on a cruise. West direction today. We start with Dziwnówek. He's practically a living spirit, but there is a sea, at least we'll say hello to him.

IDEA FOR A WEEKEND - at the seaside part 1

Again, a suggestion of a one-day trip, possibly one of the days of my stay in eastern Poland, my favorite one. Sunday morning did not bode well for me. Dark rain clouds over Kielce, a small rain that appears every now and then. And according to the announcement, it was supposed to be without rain. I packed my camera and we were on our way ... Oh ... I forgot my umbrella ... But I'm not coming back - I hope it won't rain. Direction to Lublin . On the way to Lublin, checkered weather ... Rain, cloudy, sun, rain again, downpour, sun ... I was not sure what awaited me there. On the way, passing Opatów , I saw signposts with the information: Brama Warszawska, Collegiate Church of St. Marcin ... From the route, the Collegiate Church presented itself majestically and when I saw a small parking lot on my side behind the crossword, I looked at my watch and found that my time was good and I stopped for a moment.

Lublin

After returning home after an exceptionally cold day, I dreamed of a hot bath. When I poured a few drops of olive oil into the bathtub, I remembered my September trip to Greece. It leaves me a bottle of excellent oil and a lot of memories of the blue of the water so amazing that you smile at the very thought of bathing there. My memory went back to the moment I got out of my car at a gas station in Macedonia and went straight into the wall of hot air. It was only then that I felt that I was really on vacation. We've felt it before, taking as much as possible through Slovakia (but with common sense, being aware of what amounts they write on the tickets there). We also felt in Hungary, which always terrified me that I did not understand a single word on the billboards I passed. But I actually realized it right there, at a Macedonian gas station.

Greek spontaneity, i.e. in 4 to Lefkada

Our adventure with Greece began in Alexandroupolis, we arrived in the city quite late and we were very tired. We drove through the main streets and immediately started looking for a place to stay. We left the city already in Thessaloniki, stopped by the beach on the coast full of hotels, restaurants and guesthouses. . We drove the bus into some abandoned gate and parked in the empty section between the two centers. In one of them we have located unsecured bathrooms and a beach shower, which of course we made good use of. The next day, a familiar surprise: the empty beach in the evening turned out to be one of the busiest in Alexandroupolis. I guess we started to get used to the fact that we fall asleep in a relatively deserted place and wake up in the spotlight. We sat on the beach for a while and began to gather in the direction of Thessaloniki.

One campervan, three-person crew, six weeks, almost 2,000 km. These were the initial assumptions for the 2014 holidays. Read for yourself what came out of it. We travel in a Hyundai Trajet with a vestibule - which has been serving us: Anka, Marek and 4.5-year-old Kuba as a substitute for a camper for 2 years. We don't like sitting still, so we spend no more than 4 days in each city we visit. We explore everything we can nearby - by bike or by car and move on. We appreciate regional food (although we won't eat it all because we are vegetarian), small breweries and interesting people. Our routes are dictated mainly by life - friends we visit along the way, festivals we want to participate in or simply interesting places we find on the Internet. Before we saved up money for a real camper, we decided to visit Poland - we started in 2012 and, over the next holidays, we managed to achieve our goal, step by step. We will finish the last stage in 2015 in a camper. We've already seen a lot, but there are still many places left to discover - and for now it's only Poland :).

Poland bottom up

A one-day, post-holiday (Easter) trip to the castle in Janowiec and to Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula River . The weather is excellent, the spring sun is shining and the temperature exceeds 20'C. How can you not go to the area? This time the choice fell on Janowiec and Kazimierz Dolny. Departure after lunch from Kielce via Radom ... and it was a mistake. In Radom, some detour, traffic jams and half an hour's loss, but somehow happily reached the gate of the castle park in Janowiec. The gate to the parking lot was locked. Admiring the old buildings, the manor house and the beauty of nature, we slowly reached the castle gate, which was ... closed.

Our first trip to Lithuania. Report written "on my knee" so I apologize in advance for typos and twisted tasks. I haven't fixed anything, it's just like I saw it in 2005. June 24, 2005 - the weather is beautiful, it has been hot for a few days, the next weather forecasts do not announce any changes, so just go on a trip ... Around 8 am we set off in a 10-year-old Fiat Cienquecento towards the Polish-Lithuanian border. Around 11.00 we were already at the border crossing in Ogrodniki. We were surprised to enter the border crossing where there were no queues or many armed border guards ... as it is seen on the Polish-Belarusian border. We covered the crossing without getting out of the car, everything took about 1 minute and we are already on the Lithuanian side.

First trip to Lithuania

A little crazy idea, but already implemented by me three times: Italy in winter from Sunday afternoon to Saturday inclusive, so less than a week. Here is a report from the trip by car, but for the upcoming winter holidays I will make a slightly modified route in a motorhome. Maybe someone wants to use the program, then I invite you ...
