The Automobilklub Mysłowicki Association invites all lovers of camping and caravanning tourism to participate in a unique event - in the National May Day Caravanning Rally "JAWORKI". The honorary patronage over the event was taken by the Starost of the Chrzanów Poviat - Adam Potocki and the Mayor of the City of Chrzanów - Ryszard Kosowski. From 16 to 18 May 2014, crews from all over the country will visit the Basen-Kąty recreation center in Chrzanów . It will be a great opportunity not only to learn more about the history and monuments of the Lesser Poland region (including a trip to the Będkowska Valley) but, above all, to find time for the May barbecue and rest with friends.

Although motorhomes of various price classes and ranges were assessed, the title of the best Camping Car of the Year 2014 was won by the relatively small, semi-integrated Rapido 640 model. Ordinary cars have their plebiscites - e.g. Car of The Year, and unusual cars, e.g. campers, theirs. Two British magazines - "Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly" (MMM) and "Which Motorhome?" have joined forces to jointly announce the winners of the Motorhome of the Year Awards 2014. Four vehicles were nominated in each of the nine categories, which were then assessed by the jurors. Here are the final results of the vote.

The Frankia I 840 motorhome in the Platinum Edition version was recognized by the British magazine "Motorhome Monthly Magazine" as the best luxury motorhome of 2014. What did it deserve such a name?. Frankia I 840, like other motorhomes of this brand, has many features that make it stand out from the mass of motorhomes. First of all, it has an integrated body, completely unlike the Fiat Ducato and Mercedes Sprinter , although these cars are the basis for a motorhome. In the case of the platinum edition, a Mercedes with a 190 HP engine combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission was used. But it was not the body or the engine that made it the Luxury Motorhome of The Year award. Probably the most important argument for the jurors was the fact that the Frankia Platinum Edition is a car that can do without the traditionally understood 230 V mains! Holidays in the Cretan resort of Rethymno involve long walks along the seaside promenade, admiring the panorama of the city from the Venetian fortress and palaces with decorated portals. The largest Greek island, Crete, is home to several beautiful cities that attract thousands of tourists each year seeking sun and relaxing on loose sand. The landscape is made up of wide beaches and rocky shores, and the coastline is an impressive 1,040 km. One of the must-see towns on the island is Rethymno (Rethymnon), a tourist resort with a 13 km long beach stretching almost from the center. It is situated on the north coast, halfway between Heraklion and Chania. He settled on a small cape, hugging from the south side to the low mountains.

The fact that we are dealing with this particular brand is proven by details that are difficult to miss - for example, the characteristic rear lights with a coat of arms placed between them, which also serves as a logo. Campers and caravans are just a part of the offer for those for whom long trips are the meaning of life or its very important element. Not only the Caravanning Salon was full of attractions. We also visited other stands available as part of the Motor Show 2014 to find vehicles that can be useful during active recreation. Volkswagen unveiled the T5 California Beach model once again. Probably because this car always arouses great interest of visitors. The model shown this year not only had a fold-up fabric roof under which you can arrange an overnight stay, but also a four-bike carrier mounted on the tailgate. The model on display is equipped with a 2.0-liter BiTDI engine producing 180 hp, mated to a 7-speed gearbox.

The table and chairs usually did not fit and we had to forget about many everyday items. Minimalism works well for three-day escapades, but packing equipment into the trunk of an off-road vehicle for longer trips with the family is a difficult task. It is all the more significant as motorhomes are rarely appreciated in this type of competition. A large, panoramic window at the front, a slightly pugnacious grill, exposed to the front, with which the headlights blend in perfectly, as if slightly hovering at the corners of the front wall and side walls - the front of the Arto motorhome could in particular attract the attention of the Red Dot Award jurors, who had quite a task.
